If there was a person who wasn't that great looking but had a great personality would that make the outward appearance more attractive to you? And Vise Versa, If someone was beautiful on the outside but their personality was ugly would you still see them as a beautiful person?

Yes. I never judge by what a person looks like. I have known many people and what they look like does not tell the whole story.

good question. i can't wait to see some of these answers and i hope they are honest people will say yes but come on how many young people want to be with a ugly person on the out side. i know i left a few good ones get away because they were ugly on the outside but they were beautiful on the in only had them for Friends because i worried what people would think well i have learned now but i am also a lot older. so you young ones give them a chance don't worry what they look like on the outside and you may find the one person that is the most beautiful. hopefully i made sense

From my experience, your first initial reaction is based on outside appearances. But if you give the person a chance you just may end up falling for them for their beautiful personality. I've fallen in love several times with guys that I initially was not attracted to. On the other hand, I've fallen out of love with guys who were gorgeous on the outside, but had a not so great personality. The more that you are around a person, the more the "insides" become important. The phrase "looks don't last forever" is true not only in an age related way, but also in a relationship way....good looks won't carry a relationship for very long.

I have always believed that beauty is in the eye of the beholder however, one's personality is not the first thing that is visable to others. It takes time to learn one's personality. I do believe that there are people who harbor ugly attitudes and dispositions which can make even the most 'beautiful' by "who's ever" standards, an ugly person. I would rather talk to and have fun with someone who on the outside was a plain Jane, or Jim than someone who thinks they are 'all that' and has no love for anyone else in their hearts.

It's mainly the personality that counts when I consider someone beautiful or ugly. I know some not-that-great-looking people who have a great personality and to me that makes them beautiful. In the same way, when someone has an ugly personality, it doesn't matter how good they look, they'll still be ugly to me.

beautiful is a combination of all those factors you have mentioned, and sometimes one can make up for the other, and others wouldnt mind. it all depends on your tolerance for the shortcoming of the person. so you have got the last say on the question, after you have analysed everything.
Much like in a beauty pageant, you see there is always the personality round, and the physical attributes round.
But for me personality goes a long way because even as you grow old you can still be attractive due to an infectious personality. unlike physical beauty which only lasts a good 40 yrs. then its all downhill from there....

I truely feel that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. One could be drop dead gorgeous and have a bad personality which would turn them ugly to me. And yes v.v. one whom is not attactive on the outside could be the most kind hearted fun loving soul and that would make them beautiful to me. Yet me neighbor could know the same two people and think something totally diff. So my first statement is true.

Beauty is relative. In reality, if you really want to label someone as beautiful, you MUST judge by personality. After all, who sets the standard for beauty? What is beautiful for one person is disgusting to others. Some gals are into bald men. Others find it disgusting. Some gals dig hairy men. Others find that disgusting. Physical attraction is about "chemistry." Beauty is about personality and the goodness of humankind!

I think someone can be a lot more beautiful by personality than just by looks.
