I also heard that there was a country called Georgia in Eastern Europe that is named after our President because they are so grateful to him? Is that true?

The town of Paris was name after a gallic tribe, the Parisii.
Its former (roman) name was Lutetia.

It is also the name of a series of towns in the US whose founders apparently lacked imagination.

Maybe Paris Hilton ended with that first name because her parents figured out that it was fine to name her like a hero of the greek mythology.

No. Paris Hilton was not even born when Paris existed. Paris has been around since the 1200s. Its sooo old, there's no way Paris Hilton actually convinced them to name it "paris" after her.

le_ffrench was correct that Paris is named after the Parisii tribe that lived on the islands in the middle of the Seine River. One of these islands now has the famous cathedral Notre Dame.
