If she's only 15 years old and her boyfriend is 20 years old, where the heck are her parents??? Don't they know whats going on? My daughter is 17 years old and if she or a boy of over 18 years old though about wanting to date, they'd be all kinds of H_LL raided. No way would I ever let that happen. Okay, I'll get back to your question, Yes it is Illegal for a 20 year old to date a 15 year old. If they had sex, he could be arrested for statutory rape even if the girl did agree to it. I hope that your friend comes to her seances and starts seeing someone her own age..

The law does not prevent them from "dating" in the sense that they can call themselves boyfriend and girlfriend and hold hands and go to the movies all they want.
As for if they have sex -- in that case it won't matter if the parents want to press charges or not, the state is allowed to prosecute statutory rape if the victim is under the age of consent.
That depends on the state they're in.
look here for a breakdown (disclaimer: this list is not entirely up to date, and I make no authoritative opinion as to its accuracy)

Regardless, the state would have to prove that they had sex, which requires that either the girl testify, or that someone catch them in the act (finding dirty sheets is usually not good enough), or that the girl get pregnant.

in most states it's statutory rape. depending on the state, there is usually an age of legal contest - up to a certain number of years. bottom line, though, is that a 20 year old man should not be having sex with a 15 year old girl - no matter how mature she thinks she is.

If her parents consent to the relationship then there wouldn't be need for legal action, so its doubtful that the law would intervene without a report but its definitely possible. It also depends on the state. In Florida I think its 16 to have consensual relations with someone 18 or over.

I believe that in most states the parents have to file statutory rape charges. But anyone can report him to the police even if they suspect any sexual contact. If they do he may face jail time and have to register as a sex offender anywhere from 3 years to the rest of his life.

Age of consent varies state to state. You will need to look it up. generally speaking a 20 year old is looking for sex only. If the girl thinks that there may be more than that, she is wrong.

If they have sex, he can go to prison, they can date legally although her parents should not allow such a age difference at this time.
A 20 year old shoud not have any reason to wish to date a 15 year old

The 20 year old can be charged with statutory rape in CA. I think other states have lower ages of consent (14 in NJ??)

I think that even if it is consentual it is still illegal. The Legal age of consent is 17, so yeah they could get into trouble if they were caught.
