I think if you make it clear that you are just joking and providing a distraction for their focus away from fear of the thunder and lighting, it's okay.

Yes it is wrong. I still remember being told that thunder was a big stone rolling around in the clouds. I was always scared that it would fall on our house. It doesn't rain much in the north, try living on an island where rainy season has your house flooded most days and lightning and thunder are second nature. Everynight you are going to bed scared that this is the night this loud roaring thunder is going to burst open the sky and fall down to earth killing all your loved ones. My worst was the tidal wave scare. I still remember even though I am old enough now to know better. What may seem fun to you or them at the time - plays with their psyche at some point.

anything that helps a child "get through" stressful situations such as a storm or bad weather is ok as long as you dont push it to far. ex: god is mad at you for being naughty or soetihng like that. i was raised with all the god did this or that waether stories and i came out just fine.

no, not at all. If it's a way to explain that it can't hurt them then it's okay and they'll learn in school what thunder is obviously, or you can say "think of it as: god's bowling" stuff like that. Perfectly fine!

No. I don't think little kids really believe that stuff anyways. When I was little my dad used to tell me we kept a cow in the shed. I didn't actually believe him but it was fun to play.

Noooo it's not wrong! You have to keep their imagination active. Someday they will do the same for their children. They will eventually know that its not true, and they are going to thank you for keeping their lives fun!!
