I NEED/WANT to lose weight. I have started exercising, combining aerobics with weight training. (I do the FIRM workouts--love them!) My dilemma is I don't like vegetables. I have tried to convince myself that I like them and I have tried recipes to make them more appealing. Neither of these things have worked for me. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to overcome this or supplement my diet? What about drinking V8 or something like that? I can tolerate lettuce and green beans and that is about it. Thank you for your suggestions.

drink V8 fusion a new drink that combines fruits and vegetables together, it's really good + plus if you eat alot of ketchup that will also give you some vegetables (pizza and spagetti will also give you tomatos, which is a vegetable, some say it's a fruit)

You can try regular v8 but if you don't like tomato juice you'll hate it. They make some fruit/veggie juice mixes that tastes a lot better but still give you the veggie serving, you may want to try those. Also, if you try the baby carrots with a little fruit dip or cool whip, they are very sweet and yummy.

There are thousands of different kinds of vegetalbes. It doesn't have to be all bitter green leafy stuff. 'Branch' out. I make yam fruit smoothies that will knock your socks off. Very nutritious.

Ever had Cauliflower soup? Yummy with a nice whole grain bread. There are lots and lots of ways to get veggies, please don't categorically say you don't like them until you have tried more things.

PS - India has a vast and delicious cuisine and the majority of Indians are vegetarians. There is a lot to be said for Indian food. Tastes do change, you just have to experiment.

Plug your nose and just swallow them! Try a veggie you never tried before, maybe you'll like it! Or if it's the soggyness factor you dislike, try them raw: carrots, broccoli and cauliflower are delicious when dipped in a low-cal ranch dressing! Yes, drinking v8 helps. As you get older, you'll most likely aquire a taste for some of them. Or you can do the practical thing: Just eat them because you know they are good for you!

I am the same way. The only way I can eat most of the vegetables I can stand at all is with a ton of stuff that isn't good for you on them. Then it's really not worth it, is it. Sorry, I don't have the answer but I just wanted you to know you are not alone.

V8 or other juices are options. You can also try mixing vegetables into other things instead of eating them straight. (i.e. adding spinach to mashed potatoes and then you don't really take them. The blender works wonders). And then pop some vitamins to make up for it.

i dont like vegetables either.. but if i could choose between meat and veg, i'll choose meat. but if there's no meat AT ALL, what can i do? eat vegetable is better than nothing. if u'r on diet, and u can't eat veg at all, u can eat fruits instead, but i hope u can force urself to eat veg, cuz its good for ur heath.. just think bout poor people that cant eat like u.. u should be greatful that u still have something to eat..

V-8 is a great source of vegetables.....

My children would not eat their veggies, until I discovered that they would eat just about anything if it was dipped in Ranch dressing. (You might try the low-fat type of dressing).

V-8 Splash is also very good, it is very fruity-tasting, kind of citrusy tasting. I'd try that.

If you can tolerate lettuce, then try salad? ceasar salad maybe 'cause it doesn't have any other vegetables.. but you don't strictly have to eat vegetables in your diet.. fruits are good, too

Stir-fry your vegetables in a wok and add some soy sauce and chicken broth.... It tastes yummy and there is no vegetable taste left after the soy sauce and broth have done their thing....
