I'm sorry, it's really hard losing a cat, their part of your family after the first day. Hang in there. Try making a little scrapbook or something to help you remember your kitty in a good way. Then call your best friend and have him/her take you to ice cream and sit on the sidewalk and cry, it'll make you feel better.

I am sorry for your loss. I had lost my 14 yr old cat last year . You need to grieve cry scream. It's a tremendous loss. You can not just for get about it. Time will help you get over your loss, I know that sound s cliche but it is so true. In my case I had a pregnant cat dumped at my house and she had just given birth 3 weeks before my beloved Rambo died. So I eventually had 4 kittens to help me. I never thought that I could possibly replaced Rambo in my heart and home but those little kittens got me through a very low point. I still cried for my Rambo but time does heal. Believe me it will get better. You will eventually be able to bring another cat in your heart and home. There is no ways to get over a loss like this, just time. But in the mean time, Think of the funny things your cat had done and smile and laugh and cry over it. Grieve

Even though it was a pet and not a human, you need a time to grieve. Our pets can become very dear to us, and I know you miss your cat.
It is normal to grieve for a pet. Don't rush the process. Share your feelings with friends who would understand. Some of the other suggestions about memorializing your cat are good. No hurry to get another cat, but it would be good to do that when you are ready. Your cat was a fine friend, but there are other cats who can become just as close to you as this one was.
Best wishes to you during this difficult time.

I'm so sorry about your cat -- it's always hard to lose a member of your family! The last time we had one die (about 5 years ago) I didn't start to feel better until we got a new one. We'd had her for 16 years, and the house was just empty without her!

Wow-i am so so so srry- i know how that feels and then i came across rainbow bridge........Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...
this brought tears to my eyes and made me feel better all at once........ there is also a link at the bottom of the web page for pet loss grief realeese-good luck
your heart may never be whole but eventually it wiil heal-good luck!

You should have your time of grieving, besides your cat was also part of your family. And when you feel ready you could get another cat or pet if you want to.
