You can learn to do it yourself from any reputable pet shop, breeder or vet. Just make sure you have a good supply of stiptic powder (available at pet stores) on hand just in case you accidentally clip a little too much feather. Birds have very little blood and can bleed to death very quickly if you have no way to stop it. Its not hard to do. Especially on a small bird that can be held in one hand but you may wish to have a helper the first few times you try it. If your not up to doing it yourself you should be able to get it done for about $10 at most shops. Just make sure you pick wisely.

In Rockford, IL, at Hillcrest Vets, mine gets wings and nails clipped for $10. After an incident I had clipping his nails awhile ago and him bleeding for 10 excrutiating (for me) minutes until it stopped, it is well worth every cent! And I used a clean, dry wash cloth to hold him while I did it and now he won't get near a towel! Better to let the vet make the enemies!

Some pet shops do it for free; the vet will rip you off usually, and charge an office visit on top of the trim charge. The last time I had my birds wings clipped, they said 4 dollars, but ended up charging me $18.00 plus $26.00 for the office visit. I disputed the office visit charge, and didn't have to pay it.

it cost 5 dollars but you should do it yourself just wrapped your bird in towel so you cand hold him spread his wings than trim it like 1 inch or how you see it how you want but not to short
