My kids are over 6 so I don't get it but I still need daycare which has always been costly for me since my child is special needs.

I think I would like to take the cash. I will be using daycare in the future but it will be infrequently. I would use the money to pay for diapers, clothes, food. When are we supposed to recieve this? Anybody know? I am asking a question within an answer...oops.

I would like to have the $1200.00 to help with the childcare expenses if I was paying for child care. Although I am not, I had to go through a lot to get my youngest on the Head start program to get his early education free his is only two. Early Head Start is the greatest thing that I have found for him.

I'm in the northeast, it costs us 290.00/wk for an accredited day care center. Through work I get 5K back through a dependent care account yet still costs over 10K a year. Between that and the mortgage its Go For Broke.

I think that $1200/yr would be more helpful. I pay $1300.00/month (in NH) so anything comes in handy. I think subsidized daycare doesn't give parents enough choices.

I'm suspicious. Kinda sounds like free money from the government. I'm sure we will pay for it (and then some) in the long run. It's supposed to kick in in July 2006.
