Puppies do not hate you. You need to get her used to having a bath now, while she's young! Make it fun by bringing a toy to the tub with her or, if she's larger, by playing with her while you hose her down. If she is a breed that will need to see a groomer later on, it will be much easier for both her and the groomer if she is accustomed to having baths. Believe me, she won't hate you and may even come to enjoy baths - my dog certainly does!
As for the smell, you should find out whats causing it... did she step or roll in some poo? If she did, you need to take care of it as it could lead to an infection if it gets ground into her skin. Or she may have an ear infection which can smell very nasty too.
Have fun with your new pup!

Are you using a cold hose or a warm bath? Not all dogs like having a bath so thank goodness it should only be done once a month. Try giving her treats while you are giving her a bath. That makes it a happy time for her.
If you think that she smells and needs a bath more ofter than once a month, then you might look at her dog food bag. The first ingredient should be meat. Poor quality food can cause an odor.

You should muster the courage and ignore the dirty looks your pupp gives you and "throw" her in the bath. Give her a speed bath, don't use that dog shampoo that makes you wait 5-10 minutes. all the while "sweettalk" her, telling her what a good dog she is and how pretty she is ( sounds stupid but i swear it works) and the such. While she might pout for a while, after you dry her off, make sure you have her favourite dog treats on hand and ready to give. If you make it a routine, it usually will get easier after awhile. It has worked for my two dogs. Good Luck!

My puppy smelt terrible when I got him an so did my house. I took him to get groomed and for a bath. But it's a puppy smell. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Try taking a damp washcloth and rubbing here down with shampoo. Then take her outside and play in the hose with her. That way you're giving her a bath, but to her it seems like attention and play time!

well, she will get over it. thats the great thing about dogs, they love you no matter what.
however, you should not over wash you dog. when you give your dog a bath you are washing away natural oils that are very good for a healthy coat. you should not wash your dog more than every 6 weeks or so. that is unless they are rolling in the mud or worse, then you can wash them off but i would not suggest always using shampoo.

lol. it particularly is quasi humorous. I unquestionably have a shih tzu puppy yet he would not scent undesirable. i think of which you would be able to desire to talk on your vet. i've got by no ability heard of that occuring. my puppy continually smells good suited after a tub. it takes 2 or 3 days for him to stink back
