There seems to be a great deal of misinformation here regarding traditional orthodontia and the new invisalign method. You will first need to be evaluated by an orthodontist. He or she will then decide if you even qualify. If your correction involves an overbite or will take longer than one year you will have to go with the traditional wires and brackets. The invisalign is only for minor adjustments that can be completed within a year. Either way you will continue to wear retainers for up to 10 years and if you follow all directions and are compliant with the retainers your teeth will not get "crooked" again with either type.

Depends on how you want to look. Invisalign will take longer but you won't have the pain and stigma of old fashioned braces. Braces work faster but are a little painful.

you may not have a choice. your orthodontist can tell you if you are eligible for invisalign. mine told me that invisalign is mainly for people who have already had braces and just need a little straightening. while old fashioned braces can do more adjustment. invisalign certainly seems like a very attractive option and i think most people are happy with the outcome.

Braces because invisalign takes forever and costs a lot more.

braces, you may not want them because they look funny, but i jsut got braces and people cant really tell any more, and people only talk about them for 3 minutes tops, and after about a week you get use to it, they are like a new hair vut, and some insurances dont cover invisalign, and invislign takes longer than conventional braces

I've had braces for FIVE YEARS! Should get them off soon though. So I'd have to say that if you can, get the invisilign. Although if they work slower like someone said I can only imagine how long that would have taken. I suppose invisilign take longer because you can choose not to wear them when they hurt while with braces you just have to tough it out and numb your mouth and hope the little sores heal soon. Clear braces don't look too bad but they hurt just as much as wire I hear. Good luck with that.

I've heard that invisalign is expensive and uncomfortable because it rubs up against your gum line. you can get 'clear' braces, but they are still visible. If I were you I would go w/ the braces.

Braces, I checked about getting the invisalign and my dentist strongly suggested not to... he said that your teeth will become crooked again.... you need braces since they can apply more pressure.

You need to ask the Orthodontist what he suggests and go with that!!!!!! My understanding is that Invisalign only works for those with minor "problems" so it all depends on what you need to have done.
