I received a auto citation in North Carolina. I was told that if you asked the judge for a prayer for justice or something like that and since this is my first ticket, that the judge can overturn the ticket and I won't be fined. What is the correct wording for this?

Ask for a dismissal, but you'll need a good reason!

In open court, you can request for the judge's leniency on the ground that this is your first offense. If you are lucky and your request is granted, the judge might even disregard your citation and declare you innocent of the charge.
