OOPS I didn't mean TIPPING, I meant that she MOVES her dish over... lol. Her water dish is separate fr her food dish. I have her water dish on this cardboard thing which has sides & there's a chair to hold the cardboard in place. Don't need to get food in her water or vice-versa !!!

Yeah, I alwayz change the water. I don't fill it up tho cuz then she'd just make a bigger mess. I fill her plastic bowl up 1/4 of the way. I remember when that bowl looked way too big for her when she was a kitten :) I COULD choose a best A... but I'ma leave this Q open in for others to A too :) To the 4th person, I almost chose a BA & you woulda been typing for nada...
Glad to know I'm not the only one who has this prob :)

My neighbor had this problem with her kitties. If you go to the petstore they make rubber bottomed bowls now, so they stop doing it. She's had them for a few weeks and her kitties finally stopped thanks to the new bowls. Make sure you use plastic or ceramic bowls, the metal bowls can give your cats acne if you use them for too long.

The solution: Buy a dog water dish, big and heavy. She won't move it. It's not so strange that she licks the tops and sides.

I'll trade your problem for mine. Here are my water babies:

I have one that 'swims' in her water dish. She sticks her paws in and splashes the water all over the floor.
I have another that will only drink from the kitchen faucet. She sits in the sink and pushes the faucet with her head until I turn it on.

My male cat does the exact same thing its so annoying. we have wood floor where he keeps moving his water bowl or flipping it over its making a gap on the joints of my wood floor.i bought a rubber mat he still moved it so i bought an automatic water feeder thinking it would be heavier so he couldnt flip it but he did. i then found a tray out of my cooler which the water feeder fit into perfectly now the water sloshes into the tray but he doesnt flip it anymore i still find it half way across the room tho. i dont know how to stop him moving it unless you can find those sticky velcro pads that stick to the floor.

Eh...its a natural act of a cat...Usually the younger they are the worse it is...they grow out of it...My cat does the same thing and theres really nothing you can do about it. It seems to be getting better though now since she is getting older. Sometimes the water could be icky to..so make sure to always change it, it could also be lack of attention.
