What i've learnt from past experience is that if it's a guy that's come up to you at a bar or party, basically the way to do it is to find a way of saying "**** off", or else they just think you're playing hard to get and hang around forever and ruin your night. If it's a guy somewhere else, decide from his personality how to take it, some guys you'll try and be nice to and they'll just keep coming back thinking that because you were nice to them that you don't really mean to tell them to piss off - you need to make it a blunt fact that you don't want him there and that you don't go back on what you say. I had a guy at work and i just completely ignored his presence the whole time and when i HAD to talk to him i made sure it was as blunt and non-friendly conversational etc as possible, he got the message after a day or two.

There really is no nice way to turn down a guy. Things to say:
1. Your gay
2. You already have a bf
3. My parents don't want me to date
4. You've been hurt before and is not dating at the time.

The "let's just be friends" thing may or may not be a nice way to put it, since no guy who wants to date you wants to just be friends. Be nice, tell him something good about himself, for example (This really worked out well for me)
Me: [Guy's name] I really appreciate you wanting to go out with me, and with gorgeous baby blues like yours no girl in her right mind would say no, but I guess I must be crazy because I really have my heart set on another guy.

i would say that there is really no nice way. either way he will still be upset. If you can than speak too him in private. not in a letter or on raido. Also whatever you do don't say I'ts not you it's me. you should start by saying listen we need too talk in private. then start the conversation.

A simple no is appropriate. If he says lets just hang out as friends just say your not interested in that either, cuz they usually think that they will change your mind on the 'non-date'.
It's tough cuz some guys get really insulted when you say no. Good luck.

DO NOT give him anything that sounds like "It's not you, it's me..." or "You're a nice guy, but..."
Be direct and honest. Tell him something worth respecting. The truth.

Just tell him no. There is realy no "nice" way of doing so. It be worse though if you lied to him, so rule that OUT!

I always thought honesty was the best policy. Tell him that he's a nice person but you are not interested.

Tell him he's not good enough for you. That's all he'll hear anyway. Tell him you prefer guys that treat you like crap because they're more exciting and give you something to obsess over and distract you from your otherwise pointless life.
