You need to go to a full service camera store, like Ritz or better, with you 35mm camera.

Minolta, at one time I beleive, did make a digital body ($600+) that takes SOME of the Minolta autofocus lenses. It will not, however, work with my SRT 101 lenses.

Unfortunately, Minolta is now out of the camera business so you may need to look on E-Bay or in used stores.

Canon, Nikon and Minolta at some point made digital bodies that worked with "recent" lenses (e.g. the Canon Rebel XT takes most EF lenses used in the Rebel Ti, GII and K2 series, but does not take the F1 and FTB lenses of the 1970's and 1980s).

The strange thing is that it is theortically possible to make "digital film" -- a device (electronic) shaped like a roll of 35mm film with a sensor (CCD or CMOS) that fits over the aperture gate and pressure plate of most focal plane and any between the lens shutter cameras to turn them into digital cameras.

Why no one has marketed this generic device is beyond me. It would not be a cheap device and it would be a fragile device, but with a locking device that goes from take up to full spool areas, USB and flash memory it could be a practical device that most people would pay $500 to buy!

Unfortunately it don't exist.

You should look at the new Sony A100 camera that accepts Minolta Auto-focus lenses. You should be able to find a Minolta lens adapter for the older manual focus lenses to AF bodies. Of course you must use the camera in manual mode or AV mode. Then there is the multiplication factor for the smaller APS sensor size, that will make the lenses a bit longer than they were on his 35mm Film camera.

I still habitually use film. Presently I have been using 35mm, but I'm working myself up to starting medium format. I do have a digital, but it gets the most use when I want to take pictures of my bunny or of my Polaroid Emulsion Lift projects. I don't think I'll be using digital too much more even in the future - I won't be satisfied for my artistic projects with anything less than a full frame 35mm sensor and those are out of my price range

Yes, Sony swallowed Minolta whole a few years back, and it shares a lens mount with Sony's SLTs (2-digit models).

It will NOT fit the 4-digit EVIL models, or the full-frame A7 with out an adapter.
