I suggest that you go to a cruise line web site, like maybe Princess and look at the tours that they offer. That will give you an idea of things that people do when they go. If you are booked on a cruise, go to that cruise line's web site and look at the port stops and then click on the tours available. When we went on our cruie we had tours in each of these cities. We visited a glacier, a fish hachery, and rode up the "gold rush" pass, among other things.

I'm going on a cruise to Alaska too. (I don't know on which cruise line you'll go) but I'll go on Royal Caribbean, and on the web page there are explanations of the tours you might take, how much they'll cost, etc... so that's really helpful, check it out!! For example, there's one that they'll take u on a helicopter to the glaciers and you get to walk on them, or there are more calmed ones, like watching sea life... you can choose, so better investigate on your cruise line website...
