I feel that spongebob does a lot of things that aren't appropriate. In the movie they were walking around depancing each other, my 4 year old god son started depancing his friends and anybody else he can get to. That was the end of spongebob!! He loves the show so we record the show and pre-screen before we let him watch.

Well I have seen much worse on the TV, I am sure they hear much worse at school, friends house, or even Walmart. I think alot of the things on spongebob would not be "thought" to be bad if there were not so many perverted minds in this world. And as for the uneducational part, When my kids have screamed all day and I am tiered I could care less if they are sitting down for 30 mins to watch something such as Spongebob ** WHAT watching TV makes them lazier? Where on earth do you get that? I watched TV all the time as a kid and am quite active now, My son loves TV, but he barely ever sits while he is watching it he is always on the go, and is VERY active. We watch TV and are NOT even near lazy!

OMG!

Lighten up. There's worse things she could watch.

I've seen an episode where Spongebob starts a successful business, two actually. I've also seen one where he befriends a bubble, you think that kids are actually gonna go and kill somebody because they watched one episode? Little kids don't even understand what they're watching. You are way too overprotective if you're worrying about Spongebob. It's a show as it fiction, as in not real, as in, it didn't really happen. Take a chill piil, seriously.

When my children were preschoolers...I watched everything with them and could change the channel or distract them if something were inappropriate. Preschoolers need constant supervision. At 2 years old...she probably doesn't get the abstract message of violence...but this is probably not the best cartoon for a 2 year old. There are better selections. I would let my school age children watch though...because they can be reasoned with and know that this is a fiction animation and that violence is not acceptable in my home , family or culture.

Spongebob is a very good show. I am not a parent, but my parents watch very closely as to what my younger brother watches, and he is allowed to watch Spongebob. See a few more episodes. Did you watch the whole episode? It's not bad at the end or anything. Watch a few more episodes, maybe you will change your mind.

Well, before my son turned 3, I wouldn't let him watch it. Mainly because it has no educational purpose and I'm all about keeping with something that helps his brain grow. He now watches it and thinks it's funny. It's gotten to the point where I sit and watch it with him. Come to find out, my son has learned a few good things while watching it. Not anymore than blues clues or dora. I let him watch it because he remembers the names of every character and I see that as a good thing. Everyone else has different views on that though, this is just mine.

Yes, my kids watch it. If you watch the whole episode there ends up being a lesson about telling the truth. In his own goofy way, there is usually some sort of message hidden amongst the silliness.

Yes I let my daughters watch spongebob I really doubt they are doing to kill me and put me in the freezer because of it, you should tell your neice's parents to lighten up and let kids be kids. Its a cartoon !!! And its made with pre-schoolers in mind all cartoons throw in jokes for the parents too because we have to watch them constantly.

My Son has always loved and been allowed to watch Sponge Bob. If I was concerned about it's contents I would watch it with my child and be there to explain how silly some of their actions and ideas were.

I don't think there is anything wrong with letting little kids watch SpongeBob. But like any other show, it is best to watch it with them so that you can explain things to them.
