I'm taking my first NYC trip this July and there are many sites and things I want to explore. I plan on the possiblity of going to a broadway show, Yankees game, out to dinner, shopping, sight seeing and etc. But, I also don't want to spend all of my money to do what I want. How much including cab fare do you think I would need to take for a 4 day trip?

$1000 seems about right a take the subway and buses and buy a 7-day Unlimited card about $24.

Well, the cab is 40 two in and out, + tipps, like 7 $ each time, depends. Then shoppiong, it's really depends on what you need to buy. Well, It's hard to say how much money you will need, but take more than you think you should, but spend less. I suggest you to spend money on attractions, sightseeing and show and Yankees of course. Shopping? You can buy anything these days on the Internet or in your own city, but attractions of each city are unique!

I live in New York and this place is pretty damn expensive, if you want to have fun 1000$ will do just fine.

take the public transit its alot cheaper trust me and its easy to get around,lived there done that,save your money,its expensive there too.
