I would like to know who is in the military here please state your name and rank. Just curious to see how many Military folks we have here. :)
I'm thinking about a career in the military either as an Intelligence Officer (Navy) or a SEAL (Also Navy) but i know there are many other careers out there in the airforce, marines, and regular army. I'm too lost.

2nd Class petty officer, Corpsman. Served aboard Submarines, and a Frigate...detached for service with the US Marines and served as a Medic for Amphibious Assault.
Suggestion, I would suggest that if you want high end jobs in the military, then get your college degree, or make it part of your enlistment. You can be an intelligence officer as an enlisted person, but to achieve Detective status and such, you'll need to be an officer. The seals are extremely high end and very hard to get into. To be considered, you'd need to be already in the Navy, and the one of the top in your field, then its six months of the hardest training you can imagine.

well first thing to know is no one in the military will really give you their name or rank when you get into the militrary you will understand , no im not in the military my husband is and as for my family the army has done us quite well its just something to think about.. first off go to a recruitor talk to them all and dont settle for the first one to offer you a sign on bonus go to all of them , army, airforce, marines, and yes even the navy, on a serious note if you are in to the navy seals the army has special forces or the rangers being an army wife with friends in both iv seen the difference in navy and army , army soldiers have more respect for the uniform they wear you will get as much as you give going threw the training , but the end descion is really up to you , you have to make the descion. talk to the recrutors consider all what they say weigh the pro's and cons of it all then go and take your asfab it will really tell you what you qualify to do in the military .

I was an aviation electrician's mate in the Navy (I got out to raise my son)
My husband is a ground support mechanic in the Marine Corps (he fixes the equipment used on or to fix air craft)
My mother retired from the Navy after 20 years as a senior chief. She was an aviation support equipment mechanic (same job my husband has
My father retired from the Navy after 23 years also as a senior chief. He was in cryogenics.
My grandfather was Army, I'm not sure what he did and he only did one enlistment.
One uncle is retired Army and another is retired Air Force.
I love the military and the good ole US of A!!!

My husband is in the Air Force I would give his name and rank but I can't because hey there are some jobs that just don't allow it and yes he has one of them. Anyway he enlisted 6 years ago and applied for this program and got in and he loves it, there are so many choices and we love the Air Force but we like it for the fact that it is great for families there is not many places my daughter and I cannot go. You need to decide what you want out of your military career and then figure out what branch is going to get you there I will tell you this though all branches have their pros and cons just remember that.

I'm also a nursing student. I will be commissioned as an officer when I graduate.
If you are going to be an officer I suggest you go talk to the ROTC department of the college you plan on attending. If you already have a degree you need to talk to a recruiter about signing up as an 09S ("Oh-nine Sierra") and going to Officer Candidate School.

uh i'm an army brat but i can tell you the millitary is a perfect career for you join the engineers in the Army we need more considering they just sent the only engineer batallion in Ft. Sill to Iraq

My son is in the Army and is pursuing a career in law enforcement. It's been a great decision for him in many ways. Good luck to you!
