parents spanks their children if needed, in all over the world - except USA - i believe its a crime - and childrens lawyers and the local judge will spank the parents here in USA....

I have never spanked my children in my life. But I have been spanked quite a few time by my dad. I think I learnt my lesson not to do bad things....I am proud my dad taught me that lesson...they never bit me thought....

It does not have to be in bruising stage - thats child abuse - and DSS should come and take the child - (I am talking about in America) - rest of the world dont even know what is DSS.

spanking is fine, just don't go too far

you really only need to do it once and then just use the threat of spanking... that usually works.

my mum actually would get out a wooden spoon, yell at me for doing the wrong thing and then hit the benchtop with the spoon saying if i do it again i will get the spoon... she would quite often break the spoon...

it is the threat that works best.

I dont think there is anything wrong with spanking I use to get them A LOT and plus the child learns faster it worked for me

Probably because it is physical abuse. I'm on your side though. I think some children need a spanking. But its become a controversial issue, mainly because people do it at inappropriate places and times. More children are probably verbally abused than physically and thats what gets me in an uproar...

if you are making any bruise that is to much .. and what good does it do any way there is other ways.. how would you like it if there was bruise left on you by some one that says they love and care for you BUT YET YOU spank theme..

Because it only teaches that child to hit other kids, it's completely unnecessary, it's abusive, and you lose trust in your child. Try watching Dr Phil or the super nanny there are other ways than hitting.

are your parents spanking you? or is it by choice? Bruises aren't permenant but what it does to you is. Report abuse to local police or at school. Don't let any one abuse you. Get help.

I was all for spankings till my aunt made a suggestion. If you would do something wrong, it should then be right for your spouse to hit you. After all, you did do wrong.

Teaching a child that violence is wrong by hitting them seems to make no sense, does it? All of the evidence in recent years points to the damage it does to children and their self-esteem.
