My mind seems to just always be going. I am constantly tired, and even while sleeping I don't feel as if I'm resting. I just need a way to sit and not think for a few minutes everyday. Whenever I just sit though, my mind is just flooded with various things. Not even important thoughts, just random bits of wondering. How can I learn to sit and stop my mind for a minute or two?

I learned about the expression monkey mind recently it happens when you meditate. Even though you are not necessarily meditating, you would like to have a time during the day when your not thinking and feel calm. When you meditate or trying not to think all different things pop into your mind. What you do is focus on trying to keep your mind blank but when ever a thought pops into your mind, even the unpleasant ones, acknowledge it and let it pass then return to focusing on a clear mind.
Here's a web site that can explain it more. Good Luck!

Meditation may help clear your conscious mind, but for the tireds and not getting restful sleep, that may be due to something other than your busy life.

Check your symptoms out against the list on www.hufa. org, and if you have more than you told us, you may want to get checked out for hyperinsulinemia.

if you sit and like daydream sort of just sit and actually think about stuff it's better if you think of like imaginary stuff or something calming that you like or whatever because daydreaming might seem to make your mind active but it actually relaxes the mind by taking away stress

you have to find a subject of deep consentration

a good one is to count from 100 to 1 backwards, and with each number 'visualize' the number in gold letters on a black background

careful though, it could put u to sleep
