I think it was greatly exaggerated for effect. But how would I know? There is no proof. Some people say he didn't even die on the cross, and had been seen around for years afterward.
It didn't make me cry, but I think it made some little kid puke.

I think the crucifixion scene was probably fairly accurate. The Romans committed barbaric punishments. The death from crucifixion could take hours, sometimes days. It was often carried out with the victim being tied to the cross, but usually they were nailed to it. It was consider a very dishonorable way to be punished. The movie made me cry when he was carrying the cross and being humiliated. That humans could be so cruel was sad to me. We are supposed to be so much better and higher in status then animals yet animals would never commit such unnecessary acts of violence. My reaction was mostly sadness, I guess. That mankind is so evil and can hurt others in such ways.

I thought it was very accurate and moving was not the word. I was horrified at the human race for what they did to Jesus. It was unspeakable, and you know what is even worse? That movie probably doesn't even get as gorey as it really was. I cried through the entire movie and I have only seen it twice. The first time I was blown away. The second time I was actually sick to my stomach a few times. Mel Gibson did a wonderful job with this movie. I give him credit for having the deep dedication to making such a contraversial movie.

I'm just not all that emotional of a person. It was a good movie, but it didn't make me cry. There's so much stress on the physical suffering of Christ, while in reality the spiritual/emotional suffering was and is infinitelly more (an innocent person having the guilt for every sin commited by humanity piled unto him.)
I did like what Mel did to stand up and say what he believes.

Yes, I believe it was accurate. Those Jews in power were in collusion with the Romans to have Jesus killed. Not all Jews; just them. Yes, I cried through the whole thing. For the first time being a mother, I could relate to Mary and what it must have felt like to see her son tortured and put to death, especially knowing he did nothing wrong. I was so upset about it that I couldn't see it again.

It was very moving. It took two months to film. My heart aches for the pain and suffering that James Caviezel endured at the hands of Mel Gibson.

It didn't really move me that much. I knew what to expect. It wasn't as accurate as it could have been, but nothing will ever be totally accurate cause we didn't experience it first hand.
