perhaps somepeople would put it down, however, he trusts his life to me and as far as I am concerned, he is my second child. If your child was ill and you couldn't afford it, would you have them put to sleep? No, and I can't do that to Rocky.

I don't have a computer, I am using my works computer.
It is also my 7 year olds cat, which makes it harder. The vet says his prognosis is 100% with surgery, no complications are expected. This cat was missing for 8 days and managed to come home and stay under out house, meowing until we could find him. He wants to live and is fighting for life. I have never seen an animal survive for 8 days without being able to go the bathroom or walk. He really is amazing and there is a reason he even made it.

Don't just put your cat down! Talk to your vet to see if he/she thinks your kitty will make a good recovery. Don't just assume that your cat will be sore or unhappy for the rest of its life. If you just put kitty down without considering surgery (like some people are suggesting), you'll always wonder if you did the right thing. Your cat sounds like it's really fighting for its life, and if you can help it you should! About getting money for surgery, consider a loan or asking family. Some vet clinics or shelters might have discounted rates, also. Good luck and I hope your kitty gets better soon!

Some of you guys are really mean. You shouldn't poke fun at somebody who really needs some help. Listen, everybody feels bad when their pet dies/or is killed. My cat was purposely hit last year and to this day it still gets me. I admire the fact that you want to help your pet but think about it, he has a broken pelvis. Some of these people are right, what good will it do him if he does have surgery. He'll probably live in pain for the rest of his life. There are so many nice cats out there that need a good home, people aren't going to automatically donate money for something like this, because of that fact alone. Put your cat down, it's tough. It's sad but let him go. If you have this operation, you're probably going to be running up vet bills forever. Put the cat down...and one last thing, to the wise guy that said "get a bullet"- go to ****.

as a DVM, maximum cases we see situations with animals that are hit by ability of automobile we merely attempt to solid the leg and watch for progression. I never tell a consumer that it's going to heal. you would could solid it and re-shoot x-rays to study on the shape in about a month and constrained interest is a could. First purpose therapeutic is continuously maximum appropriate and that is what we continuously desire for yet no longer some thing is ever promised or certain in the medical field. each project is diverse. As on your thoughts they are straight forward in case you may't have sufficient money the canines he could be grew to develop into right into a community seem after or rescue corporation which could both provide him the care he needs or to have him humanely positioned to sleep to end his discomfort and suffering. The longer this example persist the better discomfort your animal will sense and the probabilities of saving the leg decrease. Im effective this isn't the reply you wanted even though it really is advice from a specialist. reliable success!

I'm sorry to tell you this but the only way your cat will get better is to take her to the vet. You cat is suffering. You're right I wouldn't have my child put to sleep if they were sick. But I also wouldn't want my child to be suffering and in constant pain. Check with local animal shelters for financial help. If you can't do nothing else it's better to put your cat to sleep. Don't let it suffer. I know if I was that badly hurt I would rather die peacefully than be in so much pain. Please don't let her suffer any more.

I agree with David B you should put it down even if you spend the money to heal the cat it will never be the same and it's health will only get worse so let it go it's hard I know but it's the right thing to do.

Try any rescue groups in your area, or SPCA, sometimes they can help or even do the surgery for a lower cost. Talk to the vet, they won't let you make payments? Give them as much as you have and then make arrangement to make payments. If they'll let you, if not, try and find another vet in your area that will.

Some vets are willing to set up payment plans, if you can't locate funds immediately. Good luck with the cat!

Put it down. It's a cat. It's not a child. Get a new one. It'll be cheaper that way.

talk to your vet and see if he/she will let you set up a payment plan. It doesn't matter that it's a cat and not a child, it is a life.
