i want to know what has to be done when a person who is catholic decides to get married but hasnt completed confirmation? like how first, you take the first comunion and then after 2 years you get the confirmation, right? im catholic, have completed the 1st comunion but never did the confirmation, if i was to get married, do i have to take courses again to take the confirmation or what else is to be done?

the reason why i never took the confirmation was because the church in which i had been taking the courses from where actually 'bad'. the people who taught, they had no spiritual character, it wasn't a pretty sight. just to put in simple words, they did it only for the money. plus i was hung up on school work and activities and my parents being extremly religious accepted and understood the situation. so now, its been a long time and i never got around to completing it and getting confirmed, what am i suppose to do if i was to get married under the catholic church?

well, if i were you and you really are interested and more involved in your religion, which means you want to actually do it for your religion, not just so you can marry, then I would take my communion course again just so u can grasp a real understanding of what the religion (which is the same as mine!cool) is about since in confirmation you are confirming that this is the religion you like and you choose. If your on a hurry then you should just do your confirmation, that is if your communion course counted. Either way, please have in mind that your confirmation is a very important decision and you should think it over, discuss it with your soon-to-be-husband and see if he's the same religion as you and see talk with him or with your parents, their oppinion (and of course God's) also count! Best wishes, hope you decide whats best for you:)

When I got married, my family demanded that we get married in a catholic church even though no one goes to church. One spouse needs to be a Catholic somehow and they don't need to have gone through communion (I never did). What happens is next you do 2 weekends of 8 hours a day where they teach you about God, children, being a good catholic, have as many kids as possible. Pretty much it was a recruiting process. Then we took a multiple choice test that had strange questions such as, "Your homosexual feelings interfere with your relationship. Agree or disagree?" How do you answer that? If you did not do well then you talk to the priest. If not, you graduate in a way and get the okay to get married. For a Godparent, we had 2 people who were not catholic and it didn't matter. The 4 of us just went to a 6 hour classroom thing where they talked a little more and we were done.

Not being Confirmed means you are not 100% part of the Cult.

You can still get married in the Sacrestry-- just mot in the main church.....The Clergy will still take your money $$$$$$$$$ and do indeed want your children in the CULT so they can eventually giove their money to the Vatican too.

I used to be one-- Confirmed, dedicated to the Priesthood, am\nd an Alter Boy as a kid..... but NOW I AM FREE!

I ESCAPED! See website below>>

I would ask the priest that you are thinking of having perform the marriage. That way you will be following the instrustions he's most comfortable with and it will provide the most comfortable situation for everyone involved. Just explain to him that you didn't think the people teaching your confirmation class had as spiritual a character as you wished them to have.

I don't know, but Confirmation is very important. It completes Baptism, and you receive the holy spirit more fully, like the Apostles did at Penticost. You should get confirmed as soon as possible.

This sounds like something to discuss with your local priest. He's the one you need to convince in order to get married in the church, not us.

If you want to get married by biblical standard, one does not have to do confirmation. ;) That is simply a rouse by the RCC.
