I think there are good points and bad ones. First it was Not a lie that got us into Iraq. It was however misinformation. WM-D's have been found in Iraq. In ammunition shells. The media has gotten allot of misinformation out there. I have talked to several soldiers that have been to Iraq and they all say the same thing.
1. The people are friendly.
2. They are scared of the terrorists not the troops.
3. There are allot more freedoms there now and the people know it.
4. The violence that is always talked about is rare as a whole considering the size of country and number of people.
5. There is so much progress with schools and shops opening now than during Saddam.
I say we stay for now. If we leave it would give Iran an excuse to try to finish Iraq like it tried during the Iran Iraq war. Which would be a catastrophe. The Iraqi people should be trained and able to take over the security of their people. Then we should start pulling troops out a little at a time to ensure the stability of the country.
As for North Korea. The missile situation is just another example of a puny little man trying to wave a big stick. The international community (esp. china, japan, south Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, etc.) will not allow the north Korean government to harm another nation. If it does rattle its saber it would see an undeniable massive response from the world.
Also for your information. Although we have lost over 2500 people during the war in Iraq. It is still under the death rate in the U.S. In 1996 the death rate was 872.5 deaths per 100,000 people. Since we have been in iraq for over 4 years the death toll would equate to 3,490. Per the source below.

I am not democrat or republican I am a conservative. I have very mixed feelings about the war in Iraq. I feel that the world is better off without people like Zarkawi and Saddam but I wonder why we are fighting this war but not securing our borders. It is like going after the fox but leaving the door to the hen house open. As for N. Korea well I am not sure what the best course of action is at this point but ignoring the problem is what got us in the mess we are in now.

I'm a Libertarian, I don't like reading long, long posts so I'll make mine short.
Options:
1.) Stay in Iraq, Increase taxes to pay for it and stop borrowing money from China
2.) Make a full withdrawl, increase taxes to pay for the 1 Trillion we have borrowed to pay for it already.
Probably option number two, no more fiscal irresponsibility.
North Korean missile launch: North Korea is a soveirgn nation and has every right to test it's military capabilities, same with Iran.

The Iraq war is a George Bush folly - an illegal, unconstitutional war that Bush wanted for only two reasons: 1) He wanted to 'get even' with Saddamn Hussein for humiliating Bush, Sr. during Desert Storm, and 2) Dick Cheney wants all the oil that's swimming underneath Iraq's sand.
Those are the ONLY two reasons Bush put us into this war, and we won't withdraw ANY troops from Iraq until Cheney has an iron-clad deal in place to suck every drop of oil out of Iraq.
We're stuck in a quagmire that won't easily be resolved. Bush has put this country trillions of dollars in debt for no reason. No weapons of mass destruction were in Iraq; Hussein was in no way a participant in the 9-11 World Trade Center bombings.
Check out BUSHWACKER! - a new blog at www.blogger.com http://al-aback.blogspot.com
George Bush will go down in history as the dumbest American President to date, and his Republican-controlled Congress will be remembered as the most corrupt, evil, incompetent body ever to occupy the Capitol Building.
Homeland Security is a multi-billion dollar boondoggle. Bush's failed economic policies will put millions more Americans out of work, and out of a future. Surely Satan has a special oil-soaked corner of Hell reserved for Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and most members of Congress where they can spend their eternal damnation blaming each other for the mess they made of this world. These people deserve to be impeached, or tried for high treason. If convicted, they should face a firing squad.
Bush's "war on terror" is a sham that has cost American taxpayers billions or dollars while a few fat cats at Hallaburton and Exxon-Mobil can get obscenely rich.

Cut and run - I recently changed my opinion on this and truly think it is time to get out. I changed my opinion after seeing how much money we were having to borrow from China daily to pay for it. Meaning we are weakening our country enormously over this. The means does not justify the ends anymore.
N.Korea - scarey as hell because we are very vulnerable to an attack right now. BUT, Bush ask for this when he included them in his axis of evil list then commenced to invade Iraq. N.Korea then resigned from the NPT agreement and now look... Bush has started the next cold war.

This is a political question, not a military one.
Whether the war was a mistake or not is totally irrelevant. The fact is we're in, and it need to to be finished CORRECTLY now, otherwise we'll be in deeper trouble 10 years from now. No, you don't cut and run, obvious.

Confusion for me. I still don't know what our benefit is for changing the government in Iraq. Even taking Saddam out of power didn't stop terrorism. So what's the benefit?
About North Korea, why do they need long range missles? The only purpose would be to attack the US or possibly Germany, and neither nation has plans to attack it. So it just leaves questions on the intent of North Korea.

If you go to war , you go and conquer, take over, kill the enemy.
These days no one does it, its all half ***, to worried about what other nations might do or think. We (u.s.a.) carries the big stick but are not using it correctly.
