Most of the really angry people are of the less intelligent type who accept and believe everything their favorite slanted radio talk show host tells them.

Really, the US could not get by without its millions of illegals. The same fools who say they should all be deported would drop their jaws when you told them they'd have to pay $7 for a head of lettuce picked by a union member making $30 per hour.

Almost 1/3 of our farm workers, fruit pickers, roofers, construction workers, landscapers and hotel workers would disappear if we deported all illegals and these slack-jawed anti-immigrant yokels don't think there would be a problem with that?

It all comes down to usability. If someone has illegal immigrants working for them, they don't have a problem with them because they can pay next to nothing, but if you're not benefitting from any of vast savings then there is a big problem. It's all about how can we make the most money while spending the least. I'm not supporting illegal immigrants, but all of those people who speak out against it, try living in a place where the police are more corrupt than the criminals and the politicians, where it's unknown where your next meal is coming from and where you live in a slum room the size of a small shed with 12 other people. After thinking about all that, YOU tell me that Illegal immigration doesn't sound good!

What a crock! We are NOT against legal immigrants! Yes, LEGAL immigrants are a boon to our economy - illegal immigrants are NOT. The jobs illegals do can be done by anyone and these jobs were done before by Americans and will be done again by Americans when we stop illegal immigration. Yes, the welfare rules could do with some tightening up and many of these people currently collecting welfare could be out doing the jobs that are currently being done by illegal immigrants. However, first we need to stop employers from hiring illegals at slave (illegal) wages and then people will be willing to do those jobs at a liveable wage (at least minimum wage). In fact, many teenagers used to do these jobs part-time and in summers and they will do them again once we get the illegals out of the USA. Next, don't come back with the crock that prices will go up - no that has been proven that will not significantly occur.

Get informed!

I don't think people are against immigrants in general. Me personnaly am only against illegal ones. There are alot of people that are trying to immigrate into this country legally. Some waiting years. I think the way the process is done has to change to allow people to enter this country and work without it costing so much. Some people have to pay thousands of dollars to go through the legal process. If they do not have the money they have no choice. Giving people "amnesty" is not right because of the people that are trying to do it legally and waiting so long.

As for the welfare. Some people think other people owe them for nothing. Although it is sometimes needed to get by, I think there should be time limits on how long you can recieve it.

I am not white! I don''t care where you come from as long as you are here legally.

Rat boy and Clipz4life, the racist card has been played. It won't fly. So, if that is all you got please SHUT UP!

American will get along just fine without all of the illegal trespassers. If you don't believe it, let's send them all home and see what happens. America will become a better place! There is no job that an American will not do. We just want to be paid a living wage for doing that job. It doesn't matter what the job is. If it needs to be done, Americans can do it. Whose country's flag flys on the moon? It sure isn't green, white and red. It is red, white and blue!

Your assumption that Americans won't do those jobs is bogus. Watch dirty jobs, there is plenty of nasty work Americans are willing to do. This is all due to some companies wanting to save a few bucks by paying substandard wages and not paying unemployment and Workman's comp. I guess people forget that the illegals do not get the entitlements regular workers do.

The fact is we should not be in the predicament to need these people. If these companies had actually tried ethics and hired legally and responsibly we would not be having this debate today. The Illegals have caused a stagnation in wages, a huge drain on our social systems, and have caused a blocking mechanism on people looking for gainful employment.

I blame the companies, the illegals, and our government equally.

Just stop and think about the cost that americans pay to send their kids to collage while immigrants can get all kinds of aid and better scholarships, grants that never have to be paid back, they have a better chance of getting into a collage because they are immigrants. This allows them to study all most free to be doctors , lawyers etc.... Where is this fair, why should they be given so much and americans so little. Also when the first get here to america they dont have to pay taxes for the first 5 years that they work, Why????? because they are immigrants. This is in no way fair.

How many times does this have to be said? It's not about immigrants. It's about illegals. Illegals break our laws by sneaking across our borders. They shouldn't be here.
Period.
And illegals don't hold the economy together. The American people do. There may be 12 to 20 million illegals but there are over 250 million Americans.
I'm tired of the whiney weak-kneed touchy-feely nonsense about the poor illegals.

Are you saying that our economy would not function without illegal activity? That doesn't say much for our democratic and capitalist system. I disagree with you totally.

If illegal immigrants were deported it would then force Congress to pass meaningful immigration laws so that our economy could strive with labor that entered into this country legally.

Americans are not against immigrants we're against the illegal activity that is currently being conducted by both illegal aliens and the businesses that hire them. There is no justification for breaking the laws of this great nation and it's a travesty that some want to reward the law breakers.

I'm not against ilegal immigrants but a lot of people in the usa are against immigrants because they forgot where they came from, these people will get their day, what goes around comes around,
I see some complain that some immigrants get free housing, please if you know of such a please can you give me the number so i can apply? christopher columbus discovered america? those people stole the country and killed the indians, was that not against the law? yes we do need to get along and ask people to abide by the law as a whole, and send all the people on welfare to work and stop blaming the immigrants for the shortcoming in the usa, we are the people and if we want this to be a better place we must accept each other as humans first. if someone comes to my home hungry I would feed them, would't you? as long as people are willing to work for what they need, I believe we all deserve a chance, even a second chance. immigrants came here looking for a better life just like most of our ancestors did, if we all got a chance at a better life, why do we want to deny others of a chance for a better life? are we that shallow and inhuman are we such monsters ? I don't think we are I just think that most of us don't realize what and impact we make by denying others the chance we have to be happy. In the end if we look withing our hearts we will find out that we actually are good people and we need to act like it, give hope to others after all we are only here on borrow time we are not going to live forever, I for one would like for people to see the real me, not a monster who refuses to share the land with others just because they are different and may not speak my language. The economy will not hold up without immigrants!!! why is this so hard for some people to understand? I believe in a second chance. I believe in immigrants because they have a desire and hope for a better life this is what makes them better for the country I pay taxes and don't mind if it is used to feed someone who is hungry or someone who is dying, I would rather help those in need than those who already have but just want more for their pockets.

and if you can't spell check like me, don't worry about it the words are understandable for most of us smart people, you see we use our brain.

think about this:
most people would learn from mistakes if they weren't so busy denying them.

We are not against legal immigrants, we are all descended from legal immigrants.

Americans did these jobs before and still do in states where there are few illegals. They just want to be paid more.

We subsidize poor immigrants even if they pay all taxes they are supposed to, simply because the middle class and upper income brackets pay more taxes at a higher rate than poorer people do. That pays for schools, for example. It costs $18,000 to educate a child for one year in California, and we, not the illegal immigrant, pay for that. Meanwhile the schools are overcrowded and underfunded and no longer do a good job educating our own children. Their better life is at the expense of our children's future.
