The girls that have boysfriends too early are looking for validation. They equate beauty with boyfriend. You seem to believe that God loves you and you don't need a boy to tell you you're special. My daughter is in the same boat as you, except the girls are telling her & her 3 friends that she is "lezbo" because they don't pick out boyfriends. (She knows the truth and she knows that they are insecure.) Alot of boys like her because she doesn't act all weird and try to be their girlfriend. For Valentines day, she receive 2 beanie bears and lots of big candy boxes instead of the usual little treats. One boy even dressed up like her for Halloween! They like her because she's confident in who she is, because she is loved by the King of the Universe!

I've personally taken this before the Lord and have done TONS of research on this so I have an opinion and some suggestions for reading.

#1 suggestion....listen and heed the advice from your youth pastor and you'll have no regrets.
#2. I suggest not dating until you are ready to get married. Stick to "group dates" and activities. This is where you see how someone really is. For ex-- our church has a scramble golf tournament every year. I ended up on a team with someone I thought I was interested in. Because he didn't know I was interested, he was "himself". He cussed and had a bad temper. If I had gone on a one on one date, he would have been well behaved and putting on a front.
I'm over 40 and single. Because I'm still raising teenagers and they require alot of my time, I only go on coffee dates once in a while. I prayed that God would "hit me over the head" when He thought I was ready. I won't kiss someone unless I know them very well, and there is marriage potential. I love to kiss, but will save that for my husband. When you "save yourself", even in the kissing department, it makes kissing so intimate and special when you are ready to give that away.
For sure, don't have sex before your married. It's the only sin that you do to the inside of your body. It will mess with your soul. I know. Of course you're forgiven, but you give away something that you can never get back and it's not worth it. Check out some of the sources.

The youth minister is right about teaching you about abstinence because you're at the perfect age to know about all that. However there's nothing wrong with having a date or kissing a boy a year from now. At the age you're at you should just hang out and don't worry about dating right now.

Well i think it is up to you when you date. When you fell ready to date , than you can date. The kissing part well.... your first kiss you will always remember. So don't just kiss any one. Wait tell the right person. I am going in to 9th. grade, and i haven't had my first kiss yet. But i am not in a rush for my first kiss. I want to make sure that i really like a guy before i kiss him.

The best time to date is 17 or 18 so you can see for yourself on what is really going on out there in the world. Also, make the right choice for yourself. Kissing you will have to be careful with because nowadays people will try something else. Just be careful.

Sweetie, 7th grade is too young to be doing any of that. Kissing is a very intimate thing to do and your youth pastor is right. You can get into trouble because kissing can cause other things. You need to wait until you're old enough to make that decision without having to ask us about it.

if you're comfortable about it, talk to your parents and/ or your Pastor/ Minister. You can date and still have a good time without kissing at your age. Our oldest chose not to date until he was almost seventeen, he is now nineteen and with the same girl, they are planning a future together. Your best bet is talking with your folks and God. Good Luck!

15 or 16. Don't lose your innocence any earlier than you have to. It is a gift you can never get back. Your youth minister sounds like a smart person. Keep listening for good advice.

You should go on a first date when you're 16. And in this case, it should be double dates. Don't kiss until you're at least 21 (except family members).

I didn't get my first kiss until I was 16 ( actually I'm 16 now) but trust me, it's a lot better when you wait because then you realize how much it means and you get the effect of how it makes you feel... take your time, because if you rush, afterward you'll wish you could have waited...
