To be fair, if you are attending a church on a regular basis, using their facilities, then the congregation does have a moral claim on you. It's more like you found one of those "Will work for food" people and then refused to pay him after he cut your lawn for you.
Now if you are just visiting a church for the first time, you can simply not put anything in the plate. No one will bark at you.

No.
In the Roman Catholic Mass the collection plate is replaced by a basket which is passed among the faithful immediately following the Liturgy of the Word. A family or group selected before the Mass then approach the priest with these monetary gifts, as well as the unconsecrated host and wine, which are laid under the altar before beginning the Liturgy of the Eucharist. This spiritually unites the sacrifice of the people with the pure oblation who is the Eucharistic Christ.

According Christian doctrine there is a practice called tithing were you give up 10% of your income to the church. It’s like taxes, except you don’t get anything out of it. Therefore, when they pass the collection plate around, it’s not begging, they are just collecting what they believe that you owe them.

No, It is supporting your own house of worship.
You are Giving to the Lord.
But if it were the same than giving to the collection would be like giving to the beggar on the street. There are many scriptures about giving to the poor.

Yes it is. They could just as easily accept donations from people who want to donate. For example, post a sign on the way "Donate in the office after the sermon. Instead they pass around a plate expecting peer pressure and guilt to convince you to donate.

No. Church's do good works. Why don't you ask this question about Charitable Organizations. Church's
teach good moral behavior, from birth to death. Christians are glad to donate funds to continue spreading the Word
of God.

As a Pastor this is something that I never do.
The offering plate is laid upon the alter.
It is the duty of all Bible believing Christians to bring their tithes and offerings into the storehouse of God.
It's not my duty to collect them.

No. When you give to a begger in the street..you may not like what he is going to do with the money..maybe booze...drugs..hopefully food though. When you give to your church you are supporting its ideals, its goals and aspirations. You are part of a group and supporting it...Totally different from giving a stranger money in my opinion.

No it's not the same because the leaders of the church require you to agree to it in order to be a member. It's more like people with lots of money and homes selling you your own soul. Nothing like homeless beggars.
