When 9 of Av falls on Rosh Codesh do we fast?

This has to be a trick question, what were you thinking? Rosh Codesh is the 1st of the month. So your question is "When the 9th falls on the 1st..."

Perhaps you meant to ask "If Tisha b'Av falls on Sabbath do we fast?"

9th of Av cannot fall on Rosh Chodesh. By definition, Rosh Chodesh Av is the 1st of Av. If you mean what happens when 9th of Av falls on the Sabbath, then the fast is pushed off to the 10th.

fedora nailed it -- the first of av is rosh chodesh and the 9th must be 9 days later...can't have the 9th on the 1st.
