Yes, definitely. It strips your hair of essential oils that keep it healthy. Just dying it a different shade will do this also but bleaching will do more harm. Consult a professional hair colorist before you even think about doing it.

Bleaching your hair no matter what color it is will damage it to a degree. Just know that the darker the hair the harder it is to make it a pretty blond color with out having to put a toner on it or having to bleach it twice. The more you bleach hair the more damage is done. If you are thinking about bleach for the first time, set up a couple of conditioning treatments for after the service and don't skip out on the getting your hair trimmed. If you want a retouch, try not to get bleach on previously bleached hair. That is when the most damage occurs and you can actually have the hair start to fall out.

Any time you color your hair you are damaging it, even when you go to pricey salons and pay high prices. If you mean literally bleaching it with BLEACH, then for goodness sakes YES you're damaging your hair!! If you're going to color it, either pay the price to go to a colorist you trust (doesn't have to be the most expensive place in town, just one that is reputable...), or at least buy a hair color product.

The first time, it won't damage you hair, but if you have really dark hair or are trying to get out a wacky colour, then you'll have to get it bleached more than once. This is really bad for your hair, it gets dried out, but it also burns your scalp.

I am a hairstylist, bleaching your hair takes away from it, so you always want to make sure and condition afterwards. Also, depending on how dark your hair is, you may want to see a professional so you won't have that brassy glow. A professional will tone out any unflattering hues.

I think one really needs to find a healthy compromise between hairstyle and haircolour...IE if you are going to colour it frequently, keep it shoulder length or shorter and trim it often to keep it healthy...also if you are going to colour it drastically or often, be prepared to either NOT spend a lot of time styling it with heat, or else to spend a lot of time conditioning it. I know that sounds like a lot of stuff but its true...I colour my hair a lot (caramelly usually, with stripey highlights..), and also blow it dry and curl it with a large iron every day...the price I pay is conditioning my hair EVERY day with thick extra moisturizing stuff, for about 5-10 minutes. And anyone who thinks that's too much, I have lovely, soft, fluffy hair, so I'll just stick with what I do, lol. ;)

yes, it will look "fried". I did this with sun in, as well as, lemon juice. Don't do it. Learn from my mistakes!
