Siamese cats are friendly with owner and very protective so it means you have to be really careful when you have company over. My Siamese played with our neighbors kids and never scratched them but he did attack my friends a couple of times.
You need lots of love and patience it will pay off :)
Good Luck

They need a lot of affection/attention. From my experience, those that don't get it aren't particular friendly, and can even be a bit angry and paranoid. Every siamese that I've owned personally has been exceptionally affectionate and loving. I think if you spend a lot of time and give a lot of affection to your cat, then there is no more affectionate cat than a siamese.

Siamese cats are friendly usually to their owner. From my experience with my siamese he only liked me. He was a bit nervous around new people.

The Siamese cat is the oldest recorded feline to have been taken into domesticity. It is the oldest breed of cats which have been taken from the wild and "tamed". They were exported centuries ago to the wealthy people across the continents and held as value. The are bred for purity until today. The friendliest? Sometimes. The cleverest? Most definitly. You will never own a Siamese cat. It will own you. lol

Yes Siamese cats can make great pets. Each cat tends to have their own personality. Siamese cats are extremely smart. The ones I have had, weren't lap cats, but they were one of the greatest companions to have. It all depends on how they are treated. If treated well - they will treat you like a king / queen. If treated bad - watch out. I had one as a child and loved my cat dearly.

Hah, Hah, Hah! I've been owned by cats for 60 years, and out of the 50 years I've been owned by Siamese. They are lovers, loyal, very "doglike" in their affection, but I personally experienced the Blue points and Lilac points to be more affectionate than the Seal & Chocolate points. I will NOT ever have another breed of cat for an indoor cat. (I do have 4 ferals, domestic shorthairs.) Cat lover from the time I was in a crib!

All cats can be aloof, but Siamese cats have a bad reputation for being moody. They are also rumored to be able to jump really high. Give your cat a little while to get used to your home, and you will find out shortly if she will end up loving you outright or secretly.

Cats are much like people, in that they have their own little personalities, dispositions, likes and dislikes, preferences, quirks, etc.
In general, cats who are loved and treated well respond in kind. Predicting a personality would be impossible, in my opinion, but you can do a lot to help shape it as you go along.
As a generalization, however, I understand siamese cats to have rather BIG personalities. Enjoy!!

I have two female Siamese cats, littermates. They were born on June 6, 2011. I bought them from a breeder and adopted them when they were twelve weeks old. They acted as if I had kidnapped them from the mother and siblings when I got them. They were mistrustful when I brought them home. They would never sleep out in open. They usually slept under my bed and they would never jump on my lap. I never attempted to force myself on them. II had to prove myself to them, and it took over a year before they decided that I could be trusted. However, they eventually bonded with me completely. They trust me and sleep mostly in the open. Also nowadays, they are lap cats who settle on my lap for an hour or so while I am watching TV or reading. They will also visit me while I am in bed, if they are in the mood.
I find my Siamese felines very friendly. They are talkative and greet me when I have been gone for a while and have returned home. They also talk to me during the course of the day—period. If they want something, they will let you know about it. They will usually meow and reinforce this by gently batting my hand with their paw.
My cats hate going to the vet. Indeed, I used to be shocked by reports of their hostility—blood curding meows and primordial growls, and threat displays of unsheathed claws swiping the air. My little darlings had intimidated the veterinary staff. Luckily, there is an aerosol pet tranquilizer on the market. My vet tells me it is very effective.
I never see my Siamese cats around people. I live alone and if a stranger enters my apartment, they will disappear and stay gone until the visitor leaves.
I had Siamese cats before, just one by herself. It is not a good idea to get one, for several reasons. For one thing, the three Siamese cats I have had have all gone nuts once, running from room to room in my two-bedroom apartment, bouncing off the walls, and jumping on tables and my TV and stereo cabinet. If I have just one cat, she will direct her aggressive energy toward me; while, if have two cats and they get in the mood for going crazy, they will beat the heck out of one another, and wrestle with each other, etc. Another reason for getting to feline mates is that they are company for one another if leave them alone for a few hours. They also groom each other and keep each other’s ears clean by licking them. I can’t do that.
