First, always start with vanilla ice cream(vanilla adds to the flavor of your milk shake[unless it is vanilla, then you want to add a couple of drops of vanilla]) add your flavor or fruit, fresh fruits except strawberries(frozen has a stronger taste), your milk about 1/3 cup, then I add 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt, it smooths out the ice cream. If you ever notice the grainy look to a homemade milkshake, it is ice crystals that the yogurt absorbs and smooths out. Enjoy, come to think about it I will make one now and join you!

My dad makes the best milkshakes in the world, depending upon what flavor you prefer, add the ice cream (I'm a chocolate w/ oreo girl), 2 scoops, milk (just enough to cover the blades, some crushed oreo cookies, and then 1 egg ....I know that sounds kinda weird, but it makes the shake really "fluffy." Finish w/ some whipped cream. And you won't get sick from it, the odds of getting sick from the egg are slim to none. Hope you like it.

Get some Strawberry and Vanillia ice cream add 3 scoops each in your blender then add a banana, a tablespoon of honey, and a cup of milk and blend just enough to make it all blend well together.

a milkshake is nothing more than ice cream, milk and flavoring or fresh fruit. if its chocolate you want use syurp, frozen fruit is best for fruit milkshakes. Malted powder added gives a wonderful flavor but turns it into a malt instead of a shake :)

I used to work at a Swensen's Ice Cream Shop and our recipe for shakes was easy...good vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, and a splash of milk. Blend until the consistency you want is reached.

I make them with flavored ice cream and milk. I put a couple scoops of ice cream in a glass and then pour a bit of milk and whip it with either a fork or your can put it all in the blender. They are just like the ones you'd buy anywhere else. They are simple, fast, easy, and delicious.

I'm with you on wanting to make them at home and now I do thanks to my daughter purchasing me a home malt or milkshake unit. Easier then running out for a malt, fast and the clean-up is very easy. I can make a dozen or more malts for what I pay someone else to make two for me and best of all..."I know what's going in them".
Walgreens Drug stores sells them for about $20 and well worth the price. Instructions come with it too.
