If you are talking about carp fish then after you wash it well, put some paprika, turmeric salt and lemon juice on the fish and let it stay for half to one hour. then you fry it in edible oil, the lemon will kill the fishy smell. you can eat it right away or you can prepare a curry out ot it. For curry, put oil, sliced onions, cumin dust, corrinder dust, garlic paste, ginger paste, paprika and turmeric and salt and water, let it boil a bit and put the fried fish inside the curry. you have a fish curry! This is southeast Asian style of cooking carp

Carp is very bony. If you want to risk eating a bony fish, you can boil it and strain the bones out, or boil it and mash it and then strain it.
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of different kinds of carp, so some may be less bony than others.

Because of all the bones, carp is difficult to cook and eat. My parents cook it in a pressure cooker so the bones are like those in canned salmon. You can eat it all. They make it into fish cakes then.

without a second thought the best way to eat a carp is to gut it scale it nail it to an oak board then throw it on the grill about 200 deg. for about 2hrs remove it from the oak board then throw it away and eat the board.

Live in La., we call them buffalo. My old aunts knew how to debone them and cook them in a spicy red gravy(sauce picaunt) and it was great. But all the spice was to hide the very strong flavor of the fish.

Why would you want to eat that horrible fish? All the fish eats is the crap from the bottom of a lake or river.

Smoked using brown sugar & water to cure. Then can it. Turns out just like sardines, bones are soft and edible. Taste is similiar to salmon.

After you have skinned and boned it cut it into filets. Beat up an egg and dip the filets in it and then roll them in cornmeal. Fry it up in a frying pan.
