I feel that we are? Maybe not this year or next or in 5, but soon. We are already over in Iraq, and then Iran and Korea are messing around with there nukes, and we (Americans) think that every country should have a democracy government. Aren't we in away be the world dictator, or something. Give me your thoughts.

I don't think we, United States, are being a world dictator. I believe we are trying to much to be "the world policeman". We should revert back to the pre-world war II era. This was an era in which we looked out for number one and stayed out of most affairs international. Since the U.S. makes the most money and has the most interests throughout the world, U.S. is supposed to solve most of the global problems.

There are many other industrialized nations that sit back and are afraid to take a definitive stance against the N. Korea's, Iran's, and Somalia's over the world. The U.S. looks like the worldwide bully because it receives all the blame when things go wrong. When things go right, then it is the United Nations that gets the praise. Democracy is not a good thing for every country but sitting back and doing nothing is a worse option. When we interact, for better or for worse, it seems to be the only way for the rest of the world to get involved. We could be headed for war if too many nations stand by and do nothing.

We've been headed here since Adam and Eve. Man is a fighting, territorial species. I love the comment from the fellow who said he'd be safe in England. There's more people who hate Anglos in England than in parts of the Middle East. Folks, we have to flex our muscles or it's all over for life as you know it, IMO.

yeah, this country is going down in a major way probably within the next 5 years.
There are way too many other countries that hate us now.

That's why I plan on moving with my wife (English citizen) to the UK in a few years.

Good luck

theres a strong possibilty thta we are headed towards another world war... for one thing, america always has to act as the good guy, so we get in other countries' businesses... and other countries obviously dont want us to help them so we're screwed because of that ---- ALSO... its just common sense that other countries can never get along with each other perfectly, so... war is bound to happen sooner or alter

It looks like it ..
in a prophecy attributed to Nostradamus, the third world war would happen when "the eagle and the bear join together to fight the dragon."
Eagle= U.S.
Bear= Russia

With all due respect to a majority of republicans who 'appreciate' Dubya, he is, in a way, a dictator. We're going over to Iraq and trying to control their government, when OBVIOUSLY (due to bombs and attacks) they do NOT want us there. I mean, if we're going to attack and try to seize some country, let's make sure that they don't really mind us trying to control them and bring them peace, without them trying to blow us up. We need to butt out of other countries business and let them take care of themselves, and let us take care of OUR problems.

I'm afraid you may be correct. Along with spreading democracy, we're spreading our lifestyle, including fatness.
