I really suspect it depends on the question being asked. If someone is asking a question about tuning up an engine, I suspect most people on Yahoo would perhaps respond with a quote from a Chilton's manuel or something similar.
Likewise, in the religious section, if the person asks a question like "Did Noah...?" or "Did Moses....?" then it seems appropriate that a person providing an answer might quote from the Bible as a response. On the other hand, if the question is "Did Vishnu...?" then a quote from the Bhagavad Gita is much more likely to be given in response. And in both cases Atheists are likely to rudely butt in and say "It is all a myth!" (Actually most Atheists are only rude in regards to the Bible and seldom stick their noses into Wiccan, Hindu and Shaminism questions.)
Nevertheless, the the religious questions section most people are asking questions based on the Bible, so most answers to those questions are have some sort of reference to the Bible. Deal with it.

Because for some reason they think that the bible is highest authority on everything and couldn't possibly be wrong. But in reality, it is one of the most vague and self-contradicting religious texts out there. Christians (not all, but the ones who fell the need to convert everyone) grew up with this bible stuff beaten into them. The chruch paints this image of firey hell for those who don't listen to or even those who question the bible. They end up brain-washed by this stuff, so any proof to the contrary of what they believe is just ignored, or else their entire belief system could come crashing down around them. They quote from the bible, because they think that it proves their point, but they just can't seem to grasp that it isn't proof to anyone who doesn't believe in the bible. They grow up forbidden to ask questions, so, as a result, they don't have any real answers. Just to quote the bible to back up their claims. This is a shame, because Christianity (true Christianity) does have a good message to share and can help people, but it gets a bad name from all these fundamentalists out there who claim to have all the answers and know everything and try to forcefully convert everyone.

Since the atheists dont know the Bible, its something new to them. Perhaps they will be enlightened, perhaps not. But atleast they are sincere enough to try. It is still up to the person reading it though. So, dont get upset. You probably are an atheist.
Let me start by John 3:16, are you familiar? Of course not. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son. Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." Happy reading!

I hardly see anyone here who quotes from the Bible, even when the questioner asks for Biblical references, many people won't give them.
Personally, I quote from the Bible only when it seems appropriate to the issue.

If that is my answer then that is my answer it is your choice to believe it or not just like any other answer to a question. How can a question about God or the Bible be answered with out a Bible quote? If that is what God wants me to answer with then that Is what I do.

I aggree. It's a lot like trying to sell a Redneck a Toyota, using a Toyota magazine as reference, and a pocket Japanese/English dictionary to explain any defects, flaws, or sales pitches.
That applies to the Koran as well.
The word wasn't meant to be sliced, and diced, before consumtion. It's bread, not coleslaw!

because this is what they have been taught...i don't think the bible is God's original word...it is something written by humans to serve human purposes,a mere book-of course,it has some very important truths...

because following religion is by definition illogical and irrational, therefore there is no way for them to back up what they believe with logic and facts since their belief is based on an irrational assuption..

Now that's a good question. Now how about a good answer. Because the Christians are smarter because they can read.

Because quoting from such other works like THE KARMA SUTRA, MEIN KAMPF, THE ANARCHIST COOKBOOK, THE TURNER DIARIES, and PROTOCOLS OF ZION would be a violation of the TOS of this site.
