It's not a fair question. Say I was to tell you that I have a 'purple horned snorkstack' in my backyard.
Would you believe me? No, of course not, only the terminally stupid would believe such an outlandish thing without proof.
Same thing here.
We do not and will not believe in a magic sky-pixie until we have proof. Or at least some sort of credible evidence.
It is up to YOU to provide the proof. Not the other way around.
That is elementary logic.

Isn't this a silly remark? I've heard it many times too. As our bishop says, "When you see a cabin in the middle of the woods, do you say, 'Oh! It's just a coincedience that all of these logs just FELL into place and the windows just happened to fall out of the sky perfectly into shape and the door just HAPPENED to come together.?' No! You KNOW that a man was there and that man built this cabin. It's the same way with God. We can see the earth, the world, man, animal, mountains. That is proof!! These things just didn't happen. Someone created them. It is obvious."
Maybe that'll help? It's so silly for someone to ask because they know in their heart that God exists. It's one of the basic things we are born knowing. Even pagan tribes who have never seen a missionary worship something.

<---Spiritual atheist speaking. If a theist wants atheists to believe in a deity, it is only fair that we ask for "proof". The proof the theist has may not satisfy atheists the majority of the time.
Your asking for proof of deity's non-existence, I could say is a fair turn-around. I do think one cannot prove a negative, can only prove a positive.....but to be honest with you, I stay out of this "Gimme Proof" agruments pretty much of the time.
I think the real misunderstanding lies in the evidence. Each person will find their own proof that will convince only ONE person---that seeker. Not everyone will agree on the evidence shown. Not everyone will accept another's evidence. That's my take. We all have our own personal evidence that convinced us one way or another. I have mine that convinced me, and only me, to be an atheist. My evidence may be shoddy to my fellow atheists, even! :-) I hope I clarified. :o) Feel free to ask me via YA emails, if need to.

I would never ask for proof of God...there is none to give and I know this. There is also no proof that God doesn't exist. It is all in what we believe. Why can't we just have different beliefs?

Ugh... not again. I swear this is at least my tenth time answering this question. First of all, I personally wouldn't ask you to prove god. I already know you can't, so there's no point in that. But the reason it's not a fair question is the same reason it's not fair for me to expect you to disprove any bs story I decide to make up in my head. I can't say that a giant butthole that eats pudding and lives in another dimension farted out the universe, and then claim it's true until you prove it doesn't exist. You can't prove it doesn't exist. Does that make it true? You simply can't prove the non-existence of non-existent things.

can you prove the wind?
what is the proof the wind exists or doesn't exist?
some of us can see the effects of the wind and others because of blindness can only feel or hear, then there are those who perceive the wind with all the measurable senses
it is the same way with god....there are those who have a close deep abiding relationship with god and then there are those who don't know come here from sickum when it comes to god...never heard him, never seen him, never felt him, never tasted him....such is life
maybe the atheist needs to break some wind

There is far, far more proof – fossil records etc. - that we evolved according to Darwins Theory of Natural Selection than there is of any god. Which of course is a man-made construct born out of ignorance at the time. If in doubt, apply logic, common sense and evidence. Not blind faith.

This is not a fair question. Those of us who believe in God, do so through our faith--we cannot prove His existance.
An atheist cannot prove that God does not exist either. No matter how scientific they get--they cannot prove that God had nothing to do with it.

Prove there is; prove there isn't. Getting involved in that whole back-and-forth nonsense is just playing the enemy's game. We know God is there. People who ask for worldly proof are afraid to live by faith. They want you to make belief easy for them. They're asking you to lower the bar that God has set.

The burden of proof is on the believer.
bugeyes46217 above said:
"Even Einstien concluded there is a God."
That is completely untrue, Einstein did NOT believe in a personal god.
