This term really irritates me. I personally think it sounds very unintelligent. I have always used either My fiance because we are engaged, or my childrens' father. Doesn't referring to him as your child's father sound a lot better than "my baby daddy?"

I'm not married, we're engaged. I guess it's just one of the slang words i'll never like...lol

I don't like the "baby mama" term either. I feel they sound immature. Wehn you're a mother, you should sound like one, not like some child

yes, everyone uses it. it refers to a daddy that is a "dead beat"
but men also, use the term, "baby's mama" to refers to the woman they think are sluts.
it is a terrible term and I think was started on those shows like "Jerry Springer"
people that are a "couple" with kids don't use the term.

I think the only girls who use that term are not with the baby's father, and probably don't have a good relationship. Before my hubby and I got married, I also referred to him as my fiance or my child's dad, but we are together and have a good relationship.

If he is nothing more to them than their "baby daddy", that is all they will call him.

I also find it obnoxious, but only because I hate thinking about so many girls getting pregnant by guys who they have to refer to in that way.

well first the term was used as "my baby's daddy" but soon people started to say it so much that it turned into "baby daddy". Mostly only ghetto or wannabe ghetto people say it. If you don't like the term try to stay in different groups or ignore it. That's the best advice I have.

Because that's what he is...the baby's daddy (father). They have no other tie to the man. Lots of "baby daddy" out there today, lots of baby's dont even know who their daddy is, just watch Montel. Sad...

usually those are the ones that arent with the childs father... anytime you hear that phrase, i can guarantee you they're not married or even together at all. i don't have children but i can guarantee my man wont be the babies daddy. he'll be that childs father.

because they can. its a personal preference. You may find it quiet stupid sounding, while others find it cute. or perhaps they do not think of it beyond being a phrase
and personally "my child's father" sounds like something an uptight english professor woul say

Its slang used by those who think it is "cool" to be ghetto..
I think its a waste of intelligence , if there is any intelligence to waste..
I think we would all be better off if we spoke the proper way or at least how we were taught by our educators..

It irritates me too..

I think it's just a slang term that stuck around longer than it needed to.

You're the idiot who thinks anyone on welfare is pathetic.....and you have a bad habit of judging people. It sounds like you need to stop worrying about everyone else that's not 'good enough' for you.
