Chili Pepper Heat Ratings in Scoville Units
In 1912 Wilbur Scoville, a pharmacist for Park Davis created a scale for pepper hotness. It was based on the amount of dilution it would take for the pepper to be unnoticed by a taster.

The most spicy food I have ever eaten is Thai "Som Tam" - a kind of green papaya salad. Very spicy but also salty, sour and sweet at the same time. Thai cooking can be extremely spicy, they use little "Prik Kee Muu" chilis which are fiery.

Your taste for spicy food is not unusual, millions of people all over the world like it too. The "heat" which you enjoy is another dimension of flavor, the difference is that this flavor must be learned and one's palate conditioned to enjoy it.

Thai restaurants in America and Europe tend to reduce the chili and pepper content of their dishes to conform with local taste. However, not every Thai dish is supposed to be hot and spicy. If a restaurant has a real Thai cook and you tell them you want a spicy dish really hot, they are always happy to oblige. If you really enjoy spicy food, it's the Thai kitchen for you.

Try chewing on a habenero pepper, I like spicy foods, and ate fresh peppers all the time until someone introduces me to the habenero pepper. It made me brake a sweat, tear up puke and then I lost my voice for a week! I dont brag anymore about not finding anything hot enough.

Have you tried wasabi yet? I like spicy food, but it's a little too much for me to handle at times!

It wasn't me personally, but my ex-husband was Mexican and loved spicy foods. One night we were at a restaurant and he ate a habanero pepper and tears came to his eyes. He drank tons of water and had to go to the restroom, he almost threw up. That was the hottest pepper he had ever had. Of course, I laughed my *** off!

Go to any Indian restaurant in your city. Almost 90% of their recipes are spicy.

I hate Indian restaurants for that reason! I can’t relax while eating, I feel I’m about to turn dragon whose going to blow fire from her mouth if I didn’t drink water every while!

Nuclear wings, when I was in college.

Let's just say I wasn't exactly sober when a group of us decided to get these. They burned my mouth...then burned me again when they made their way out.
