Well, we didn't find Osama bin Laden. We bombed a lot of innocent Afghanis to death. We got rid of the Taliban as the official leaders - they were very religious and repressive (especially against women). That gave women more freedom, like the opportunity to go to school and work. But it also opened up Afghanistan to the heroin growers and shippers that the Taliban had put out of business - most of the US heroin supply now comes from Afghanistan.

We replace a totally brutal and totalitarian group of terrorists with a freely elected democratic government. This was accomplished in less than two years while it to the USA over 15 years to do the same thing. We put a symbolic stake in the the ground which stated that we finally recognize that we are at war with the terrorist that declared their jihad on the USA and we are going to fight. We but the terrorist on notice that we are going to kill them no matter where they are and we will not back down.
We pretty much gave every extreme wacko terrorist a rally point to come get us and we did it in a location that was easy for them to get too. We offered them a place to die and they have flocked to it. May Allah bless them and keep them coming. We would much rather kill them there than in the streets of New York.
What state are they in? They have free election where men and women vote. They have a operating democratic government. They have established social and welfare systems. They have schools that are open and functioning to child. They have a army that is getting better everyday. Most of all they scare the poop out of every Middle East Government that is run by religious fanatic, sheiks, terrorists and dictators. Once the people of those nations see what can happen when people are given freedom, the leaders of the terror nations will need to start digging their holes deeper.
The state of Afghanistan is a shining light and the terrorists of this world cannot stand light - light is truth and the truth will set up free!
May Allah bless up Afghanistan! Live long and prosper!

We acomplished loads actually.
1) we shut down the taleban regime which was actually formed in Pakistan at the Madrasers and we gave the people back their lives, and cancelled Sharia law which saw people executed every weekend in the soccer stadium .
2) We shut down the training camps which produced the 9/11 and 7/7 bombers
3) We sponsored a new Afghani government, The first for 30 years and the first elected one ever.
4) We won every battle against Al Queada and the Taleaban
So whats your point?

Ask the free people of Afghanistan. I'd say we gave them the OPPORTUNITY to build a free country out from under tyrannical rule & a gurantee that we'd come back to defend them if any such thing raises its head again. Such an environment gives a people a lot of confidence to makea democracy of their own. They're still a backwater poor little nation, but they have a long way to go from 30+ years of war & the future has never been brighter.

Removed the Taliban, established democracy and safeguarded the country. Afghanistan has very little oil.

We did kill a lot of their top leaders (Taliban). Other than that, we're still looking for Bin Laden. A lot of the troops were taken to Iraq or moved towards the Iran border though.
Oh yea, and we got their oil.

We took out a bunch of Muslims. We allowed a government to take control of their own country as opposed to various gangs around the country.

We went in to search for and kill/apprehend terrorist leaders. Other reasons for our being there was to search out and destroy terrorist training camps, strongholds, and rallying points. We did so, and (along with Northern Alliance assistance) removed "Taliban" influence. This was an ultra-orthodox tenet of Islam that made it easier for terrorist forces to move through, and occupy areas in Afghanistan.
