the reason to invade Iraq was WMD. What if it was true and Saddam pressed RED BUTTON? How many american soldiers would die? What do you think: Did Bush know that there was no WMD? Or he was ready to sacrifices so many american lives? Why not air-strikes instead of putting troops on the ground?

of course i believe that the WMD excuse was just to initiate the OIL demand that he wants to control......something that his daddy never finished.... now what?
1st it was called
"WMD sadam" or whatever and then all of a sudden out of nowehere it was changed to "operation free iraq"and with no explanation....
i really dislike bush for sacrifing his people for his money..

When we first talked about Iraq, BEFORE the UN was discussed, the objective was to capture al Quaeda members who had fled there after afghan, and to destroy terrorist training camps near the Iranian border that were supported Saddam, and to set an example of democracy in the center of the middle east to influence its neighbors over time. These were the things in US interests. ONLY THEN were WMD discussed as a justification to the world, and they didn't follow us in anyway, so they didn't matter. However, reread the David Kay report. You'll find it much different than characterized in the media.
The cause of America is democracy, and the cost is high. To be a democratic nation means to have lived under oppression & to owe the same freedom you now enjoy to all now living under tyranny. America would have & still will pay any cost in blood to see that mission through. If that is 10,000, or 100,000, or several million we will sacrifice what must be in order to defend what our founders believed in. If you have a complaint with Bush, the best one might be that he's too much of an idealist, but then so are the people serving in our military, and I think that's a wonderful thing.

Don't you watch the news? There were airstrikes. They came before the ground troops. I watched them live on Fox and CNN.
