The devil said to the Lord ..." Lord, please let's be friends just for a few minutes, just for once, i want to show you something ..please come and sit next to me ?" ..and the Lord said " Ok, just this once ..."
A farmer was driving his oxwagon through a bad patch, and it got stuck, and he said " The devil is loose again today..."..and the devil said " See Lord ? Here i am sitting innocently by you, and i get the blame..." and along comes another farmer, hooks up the oxwagon that is stuck, and pulls it free with his rig...and the farmer whose wagon was now free, said .." Thank God "..and the devil said .." See Lord ? here you sit innocently by me, and you get the blame "...

So far hannahonelove is on the same wavelength as me. I asked the question, and i realise this is not the jokes section as well.

Wonder how many will agree with me...
Those are two spirits who need bodies to work thru, life goes on, whether we allow either one to use our bodies, or not, but either way we will answer eventually ?

Excellent question. I think it's also worth a mention here that historically 'Satan' was depicted as a messenger of Yahweh's - not a being of consummate evil. He worked for Yahweh and did his bidding.

Judaism should have authority on this matter, and Judaism has always identified Satan as an angel whose purpose is to challenge mankind so that they can learn and grow. He is an annoyance to humans, but not a monstrous villain.

If you're interested in a good biography of 'Satan', pick up Peter Stanford's book "The Devil: A Biography." Stanford is an Oxford graduate and former editor of 'The Catholic Herald.'

People use God and "the devil" in all kinds of ways to fit their situation, when things go badly that cannot be because they made a mistake it must be God punishing them... I am not sure what I should be thinking about... Man's ignorance on all subjects?

um, what exactly do you want us to think about? The devil doesn't want to be friends with God. He wants to BE God. You try to portray the devil as some innocent downtrodden whipped puppy, but he's not. Maybe you should remember, while he's sitting innocently, that he's the one who is trying to drag you into hell.

Yes, it makes me think about the reason to reason outside of what the Bible teaches us. That kind of thinking will always drive us to anti biblical situations and will put on the Lord impossible behaviors and impossible words. It's so easy to read and meditate and "think" on what the bible teaches us..., we have just to open our hearts to Him and accept Him. We should be very careful not to be found making jokes with His person or His name; He will not count us as innocent being found guilty.

Like the rest of your mythology, this is fiction. Nothing more.
