I believe this earth we live on is 6000 years old, or around there. The bible says in the beginning the world was void and without form. Like a bunch of rocks or space parts floating around. I think the materials he used were part of a different world that was destroyed.
The bible also talks about there being cities and rulers, Satan was a ruler of cities and in charge of worship. So apparently there was a place for him to be before he was cast from heaven.
Our bodies are imperfect because of the curse. Thats why we only use that much of our brains. BUt even thats not factual. Science doesnt know what the rest of the brain is doing.

We don't know how old the earth is. Scientist HYPOTHESIZE the age of the earth, based on certain current theories and observations. Those observations and theories have changed and certainly will change again as we gather more data about this planet.
Knowing the age of the earth has NOTHING to do with knowing God's plan for your life, and being able to have a relationship with Him. THAT'S what is important in life. The earth is the earth, and it's as old as it is, no matter what age we guess it to be. Debating it might be fun on an intellectual level, but it does nothing for the spiritual side of us.
You obviously have a desire for humanity to become better (evolve). But maybe it isn't through intellect that we can achieve that goal. Maybe that goal is obtained through our spritual path.
Something to think about.

It is a myth that we only use 10% of our brains. Anyone who has worked with an MRI machine will tell you that just about the entire brain does something, even if we're not sure what. By the way, I am an atheist and I DEFINITELY don't believe that the Earth is 6000 years old.

I know it's not really your question, but I feel I should mention that the 10% of the brain thing is a myth. We do indeed use the entirety of our brains, 10% is just our brain's "idle speed" and it's not even always the same 10%. There's no part of the brain that's just laying there dormant.

Since bone flutes found by Brookhaven Lab experts in Jiahu, Henan Province, China have been carbon-14 dated between 7,000-9,000 years old I certainly believe the earth is older than 6,000 years.

Based on the anthropological record, and man's tendency to rewrite history for his own political purposes, I believe the earth is far older than 6000 years old.
I also believe that yes, God did create it.

WE don't know how old the earth is. No one knows. Some think it is 6,000 ya, others think it is 4.5bya. The oldest thing we have that can be verified is only about 5000ya. Everything else is speculation,
