Look at the box and read the labels for health information. Then choose whichever your cat prefers.

CF's got the right answer. Iams, Meow Mix, Whiskas, Science Diet..those are all horrible foods. My cat is on Nutro Natural which isn't the best, but is one of the better mid-grade foods out there.

When I can, I'm going to switch her to a different food. Right now I'm leaning toward Blue Buffalo.

OMG both are CRAP
loaded with fillers and bad stuff

ok BHA, BHT are chemical preservatives linked to cancers and many other problems
by-products are beaks feet feathers and other non-food bits.. they are bad mostly because since a can cannot digest them its hard on their body over all but also - they are preserved with Ethoxyquin, a chemical pesticide banned for human use.
corn is a cheap filler and a poor source of protein

Cats are true carnivours (unlike dogs and people) they need a REAL meat source.. eating all the crap fillers in these foods will take its toll... they need CHICKEN MEAL, TURKEY MEAL or LAMB MEAL as first ingredient, Rice should be right after the meat

Meat Meal = any animal that died that day so not good
Fish - bad because the calcuim contributes to urinary tract problems

any food with lots of different colors is BAD it means the food has such little meat in it that they needed to color it so it looks ok and the color dyes are bad for pets

these foods are so poor in quality (like all foods from Grocery store or Wal Mart are low quality) they actually put extra fat in their food for 2 reasons, to make it more tastey and to give your cat a glossy coat, (to fool you into thinking its good food) the fat is very hard on a cats tummy

rules of thumb - if you see commercials for a food you know they are not spending money on the food itself... but rather on the commercials
- if you see the food consistantly in grocery or Wal Mart is is low quality crap

becuause of the fillers cats need to eat A LOT more of these cheaper foods - go to a pet supply store - YES the food is more costly BUT your cat will eat WAY less, so in the long run its acutally cheaper - plus cat will have fewer health problems which mostly show up later in life
PLUS - eating less means pooping less...
in Canada - ACANA or NUTRAM, in USA, NUTRO NATURAL CHOICE, WELLNESS, FELIDAE

some bad names - Meow Mix, Whiskas, Purina, Iams, Science Diet, Friskies...

Neither. The best foods are Science Diet, Natural Choice, Iams, Purina, and Eukanuba.

neither. High Protein dog food is better for a cat than any cat food.

I wouldn't go with any of them. You should try Science Diet. I know you cat will love it, and your vet will to.

It really depends on what your cat likes. Mine likes both, so it was not a big deal.
