I'm not exactly sure what you mean but here I go. ALWAYS be YOURSELF. If people don't like you for who you are (family included) then that is their loss. Never change yourself for someone else. Be true to you, because you alone have to answer to YOU. EVERYONE has SOMETHING about themselves and others they don't like. Someone is ALWAYS not going to like you for some reason or another. Crap happens to EVERYONE and when it rains it pours. NOTHING and NOONE is PERFECT. PERFECTION does not exist. BE YOU!

If your true self need some work, as in selfishness, rudeness, then maybe not being your "trueself" is a good thing, but if your family doesn't like your true self because they think you're weird, or they don't like your personality, then they have some work to do.

It's never good for yourself to act like someone else for other people. Your family has to come to a compromise to accept you for who you are. In return maybe you can tone down on your character that the family can feel comfortable around.

No it's not OK. We are all different in some ways. You have every right to be yourself.Your family needs to except you for you and that is all. If they are trying to change you it's a big mistake. They don't have a right to take away your identity.Be who you are maybe some day they will learn no one can change anyone. GOOD LUCK!!!

Don't think so. Sounds like a pretty self serving bunch to me.

I'd look for a new "family."
