In John 3:16 we read " For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but should have everlasting life" Jesus said "I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am ye might be also." When I die my body, my shell so to speak will be placed in the earth to eventually turn to dust, but my spirit will be with the Lord for eternity. I know where I am going when I die. Do you?

Hopefully New England...alright, getting serious: your consciousness (yes, your mind/soul) does go on, sort of like an evolution. Near death experiences confirm a uniformity of sorts: a light at the end of a tunnel, meeting people who have previously died, some even report having talked with religious figures. people who have been revived from suicide report a terrible place of anguish. One thing I am certain of is that there is something after death. I think just what may have something to do with what kind of a person you are in life.

Eternal Life in Eternity

In the height of heaven (Job 22:12), in the third heaven (2 Cor.12:2) God inhabits eternity (Isa.57:15) and dwells in Zion (Joel 3:21, Ps.23:6), the city of the living God (Heb.12:22).

Christ chose us (the church of God – 1 Cor.10:32) before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love (Eph.1:4): and He gave those He chose eternal life (Jn.10:28-29, Jn.3:36, Jn.17:2).

Having been given eternal life, we in Christ Jesus are passed from death unto life (Jn.5:24), never to die, to live with God in Eternity (Isa.57:15), in His kingdom (Dan.7:18, Dan.7:22), an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled that does not fade away (1 Pe.1:3-4).

We are of the household of God (Eph.2:19).

DEATH AND HELL

Psa.23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the SHADOW of death, I will fear no evil: for
Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.

Flesh death of the body is a SHADOW of death, a silhouette or likeness of the second death.

Heb.9:27 And as it is appointed unto men ONCE to die, but after this the judgment:

If you are already dead why then after this the judgment?

Matt.10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather
fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Fear (revere) God Who can destroy both soul and spiritual body, that is second death.

I Cor.15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and
there is a spiritual body.

There is a flesh body and a spiritual body.

II Cor.5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: II Cor.5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) II Cor.5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Absent from the flesh body, present with the Lord.

Ecc.12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. Ecc.12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God Who gave it.

The spiritual body and soul return to God.

I Cor.15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall
have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is
swallowed up in victory.

The second death is what Christ paid the price for. Until the mortal puts on immortality he is still considered dead or liable to die the second death.

Ezek.18:4 Behold, all souls are Mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

All souls are God’s. The verdict for sin is the second death.

Heb.2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

God through flesh death paid the price for the second death. Satan already sentenced to the second death has been defeated. Satan can’t say we deserve the same verdict.

Rev.2:11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that
overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.

Those who overcome Satan become immortal, the first resurrection.

Rev.20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

The rest of the dead, that is mortal souls, missed the first resurrection, that is immortality, until the thousand years are finished.

Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

A thousand years, a time of teaching by those who had part in the first resurrection.

Rev.20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from Whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. Rev.20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

The dead, that is mortal souls.

Rev.20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Rev.20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Don’t read over that. Death, that is Satan, and hell, that is separation from God, were cast into the lake fire, the second death.

Rev.20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The second death.

Where are the dead?

Eccl. 9:10: “All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol [“the grave,” King James Version, Knox; “the world of the dead,” Today's English Version], the place to which you are going.”
What is the condition of the dead?

Eccl. 9:5: “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all.”

Psalms 146:4: “His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts [“thoughts,” King James Version, 145:4 in Dyiers; “all his thinking,” NE; “plans,” Revised Standard Version, New American Translation] do perish.”

John 11:11-14: “‘Lazarus our friend has gone to rest, but I am journeying there to awaken him from sleep.’ . . . Jesus said to them outspokenly: ‘Lazarus has died.’” (Also Psalm 13:3.)

Is there some part of man that lives on when the body dies?

Ezekiel 18:4: “The soul [“soul,” Revised Standard Version, New English Version, King James Version, Knox; “man,” Jerusalem Version; “person,” Today's English Version] that is sinning—it itself will die.”

Isaiah 53:12: “He poured out his soul [“soul,” Revised Standard Version, King James Version, “life,” Today's English Version; “himself,” Jersualem Bible, Knox, New American Bible] to the very death.” (Compare Matthew 26:38.)

Sometimes I have my doubts on where I will go. I seriously think everyone does that is a Christian. My in-laws particularly my M-I-L knows she is going to heaven. But who are we to say who can go and who can't???????? That's why we have to die and see where we will go. There is a book of life as it mentions in the bible...nobody will really know where they can go. You can be righteous and holy and go to church all the time and ask for all your sins to be forgiven, and know all the scriptures and verses in the bible, but in the end, it isn't up to us to decide, it is up to our maker

Well, my body will be creamated, and the memory of me will go back to Jehovah, and hopefully during the resurrection He will remember me and I will have the chance to be here on earth, each day becoming more and more perfect.

To Heaven to be with Jesus Christ for eternity.

Luke 16:20. And there was a certain beggar(Lazarus- symbolizing all believers) named Lazarus. "And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried.
