Does anyone know what would be causing this? My mom took care of her for the 2 weeks after the surgery and said she was walking lightly on them but not limping. I looked at her paw and there is no swellig or redness. Should I get this checked out or wait a few days to see if it gets better? has anyone else had this kind of experience?

Maybe they cut a nerve by accident. Call the vet and let them know her symptoms. Good luck!

Cut your toes off and see how that feels. You are absolutely disgusting. Sometimes I wish there was a way to cyberly abuse people. Your cat was better off with someone else. but for some reason I think you are a troll. but any ways he should not be limping unless an infection has occurred. EDIT: You should have stated why his claws were removed. If you are going to ask a question that only says "I just had my 10 year old cat declawed 2 weeks ago. Should he still be limping?" half of us are going to assume he was tearing up your house or tearing your skin apart. Next time state why so you don't get bashed. I apologize but it just angers me when someone declaws a cat for simple reasons like they are tearing up their house. My father hates it when our cat scratches at our couch but what he hates more is taking away their claws from them. sorry once again.

Declawing is cruel and painful, think about how you'd feel if someone removed your nails and part of your fingers-- it would hurt like heck (especially if you had to walk on your hands like cats walk on their paws)! Please don't declaw in the future, not only is it a terrible practice, but a friend had a cat who clawed furniture declawed and he resorted to chewing things!
Mabey your cat got an infection that took a little while to develope. If that's the case, take her to he vet so it can be treated as soon as possible.

If she seems to be in pain, you should take her to the vet. They WILL limp for a while after declawing -- sometimes for real, and sometimes as a sympathy ploy. If you touch the paw she's limping on lightly and she pulls it away from you like it hurts, you should have it checked. It was SURGERY and she has to WALK on where she had surgery, not to mention litter box visits, so it's possible an infection could be developing. you will just have to watch her carefully to determine if she seems to be in pain and if it gets worse or better. ALWAYS consult a vet if you're not sure.

Have the stitches come out yet? If not those may just be aggravating her when she walks. One of our cats occasionally favored her paws after getting declawed, but she was a big cat and got hers out after she was a few years old. If its a very pronounced limp I would definitely get it checked.

I would definitely take her back to the vet as soon as possible. Maybe it is an infection? My cat was never the same after we had her declawed - she bit the tips of her paws for years, it just seemed like they bothered her. It is a pretty intense procedure - I wouldn't do it again.

infection is often common following declaw surgery.. expecially since cats use their claws to dig in the litter box, an easy place for infection to begin...

I wish your vet had been more responsible to have told you of ALL the risks involve.. this surgery is actually illegal in some countries because it is considered cruel and the risk of complications and side effects is very high (most common being refusal to use literr or becoming paranoid - nervous biter)
anyhow you should get it checked probably....
next cat you get - either get an adult who was already declawed or use SOFT PAWS, paw protectors rather than subjecting another cat to this insane treatment

cat declawing is actually a very involved process and is quite a cruel practice, but I'm not going to preach about it to you, I'll just offer my opinion.. when they declaw a cat, picture the equivalent of having your fingertips removed from the nuckle below your fingernail (it's not just the claws they remove but in fact part of the whole finger) So your cat has to learn to balance herself in a new way since half of her toes have been removed. I'm sure it's painful and akward. Please take her to the vet to get checked out. Declawing can also cause psychological damage in the cats. Please consider the non-surgical alternatives in the future if you get any more cats.

well considering that when a cat is declawed, they actually remove the first joint off the end of the cats paw, it could be any number of things. she may have an infection you cant see. take her back to the vet! (yes, they dont actually remove the claw, they take the whole part off, similar to if you had the first joint on your fingers removed)

I feel bad, you are probably going to get a lot of asshole remarks from people telluing you its mean and cruel.

when i had a cat we got it declawed and it was fine so give it some time. but if the paw is bent go to the vet they probably hit a nerve. and if the nerve is hit dont worry ur cat will be fine it will limp but pretty soon it'll walk better. But im pretty sure ur cat will be fine soon its paw probably is just sore.
