It's a Canadian Ross rifle bolt-action from 1910 (mark 3).
I've restored it but it seems that the iron sights are very difficult to find. Can anyone recommend a decent scope for this bad boy?
It fires .303 British rounds so the MoA is slight for the first 500 meters.
I'm putting on a Harris Bipod on it and a nice handmade Cheekpiece on it too. I want it all ready to go for Deer season.

The biggest question is how much do you want to spend? The second question is what type of quality do you want?

I use a Zeiss Diavari 3-12x56 *T*. That cost me a pretty penny, but it's an excellent scope, illuminated, and has a lifetime warranty.

Whatever scope you decide to buy, I recommend that you get one that's illuminated. When you are out at dusk or dawn and try to put black cross hairs on a dark body in very little light, that little red dot is a HUGE asset.

I would look through cheaper than dirts web site and find one that you like. they are cheaper then a gun shop so you can get a more powerfull scope at a lower price. I would recomend not going over board though since you probable wont be taking shots on deer at over 200 to 30 yrds.

Nikon Buckamster is the best clarity and quality for the money. Hands down. Redfield is nice too but Nikon is hard to beat for value.
