Whole wheat pasta is healthier than regular pasta, and provides more dietary fiber per serving too. If you're interested, try this recipe for spaghetti with walnut sauce made with whole wheat pasta:
1 cup walnut pieces or halves
3 tbsp. plain breadcrumbs
3 tbsp. olive or walnut oil
3 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
1-2 cloves of garlic
1/4 cup butter, at room temperature
2 tbsp. cream
14 oz. whole wheat spaghetti
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Drop the nuts in a small pan of boiling water and cook for 1-2 minutes. Drain, and dry. Coarsely chop and set aside about a quarter of the nuts.
Place the remaining nuts, breadcrumbs, oil, parsley, and garlic in a food processor or blender, and process to a paste. Remove to a bowl and stir in the softened butter and cream.
Cook the pasta until al dente (firm to the bite), drain and toss with the sauce. Sprinkle with the reserved chopped walnuts and Parmesan. Serves 4.

WHOLE WHEAT pasta is healthier than plain white pasta, but it's high in carbohydrates and low in most nutrients. It's good if you can find a whole-wheat pasta that has added fibre. Make sure to limit your overall intake of pasta, and focus on lots of fruits and veggies instead.

The healthiest pasta that I know of is Ezekiel brand pasta made by parent company Food For Life. Look into it and I'm sure you will be very impressed. It's actually a good source for protein. Made from all organic sprouted grains. I think it's so good for you that it makes me not feel guilty for wanting to eat it all the time. They also make bread, very nutritious....probably the most nutritous of any commercial bread. The bread is kept in the freezer section of supermarkets cause it doesn't have any crappy preseratives in it, the pasta would be in the oranic section of a regualr supermarket. Check out the link below.
