I would like to go somewhere other than Hawaii, just because everyone else I know goes there. Still want to go to Hawaii, just not then. Or is there another place I should consider.

Princess is on the money. Tahiti is every bit as romantic, mysterious and tropical as it claims to be. I partook of the overwater bungalow and had the time of life. What I found very expensive was indeed the food and the drinks! After all was said and done, I summed up my total expenses and discovered that I could have booked onto the Paul Gauguin, cruised the Tahitian chain, it would have been all-inclusive and I would have had some cash left over..

Tahiti is a fantastic option. Very romantic. However, also very expensive - a lot more than Hawaii. If you are going to go, you must stay in an overwater bungalow. These are the most expensive room types but you wouldn't go to Tahiti without staying in one of these unique rooms. Food and alcohol is very expensive in Tahiti so definitely get a package that includes at least breakfast and dinner.
For an alternative option, look at The Maldives.

It seems good enough for Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman. Just consider that it will be more expensive than Hawaii, but if you have the budget, everything I've read about our trips to Tahiti indicate it's a really great place to go for any tropical getaway, especially an honeymoon.

Consider the Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It's awesome, all-inclusive, closer and very romantic!

Maybe The Bahamas might be of use? Just a suggestion.

Sure it is. Go island hopping while you are there.
