While splenda doesn't have to be listed, the type of sweetener that a food uses, I believe, must be listed. Since Splenda is a brand name, it's main chemical component is listed as sucralose.

The company is arent just not required but not aloud to list the actual product Splenda in the ingredients as Splenda is a registered product and could result in copyright infringement. They companys do have to list surgloce as it is an active ingredient in the product. Hope this Helps!

Gee, when I go to the store, the things with Splenda have it written in big letters. I guess it is to let us know that it does not have the ingredients in "Sweet 'n' Low," or Aspartame (which each have been deemed bad for us). The products containing Splenda (or Splenda itself) usually cost more.

I remember from watching this commercial where they tell you anything that rhymes with "gross" (which suralose does) isn't too good for you. And I think they are required to do so, because even when I eat chocolate covered raisins, they list what milk chocolate is made of. It kind of looks like this:

Milk Chocolate (Cocoa, blahblah, blah blah, etc.), [and then they go on with the ingredients].

They have to list ingredients from the highest amount to the lowest amount. In otherwords, the first item you see on the label is the most of what's in the product.

As far as listing sucralose (you forgot the "A" :) yes they are SUPPOSED to list it.
