If we pull out and cut & run the terrorist or every race a creed win. The wholesale retreat of the USA would be greeted with great joy and calibration by those countries that hate the USA and scare the poop out of the allies of the USA.

The Middle East countries would turn on themselves and continue the killing of one another just like before. (Iran-Iraq War, the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq, Israel against all of them) Instead of fighting over oil, which was what the Iraq invasion of Iran and Kuwait was all about, the new war will be a continuation of the Crusades. Iran has already stated its’ position and they are out to kill, murder and torture ever Jew, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist and nonbeliever in their faith.

Anyone who believes the USA is over there because of oil needs to go to another school and learn to think for him or herself. What oil? When has the USA benefited from increase oil? How would one protect the production and transportation of oil half way around the world? The USA has caused itself to be dependant on overseas oil and is not doing anything to help itself. We put a man on the moon in less than 10 years and people would have us believe that we cannot drill for oil successfully without hindering the environment? I think not. Environmentalists say that we are ruining the oceans with oil spills and will kill all the animals. Excuse me but what happened to all the oil spilled and ships sunk in WW I and WW II in the worlds’ oceans? The facts are that the liberals and the environmentalist have caused this illusion of the USA being a oil starved monster and they continue to say every bad thing that ever happens is because of BUSH. This illusion started 30 years ago and is turning into a bloody nightmare. We have met the enemy and he is us!

We will not cut and run. Like it or not the USA is the force in the world and the only thing standing between possibility of world prosperity (not peace) and a world torn apart by a bunch of crazies. Selective isolationism (putting your head where the sun does not shine) did not keep us out of WW I (Wilson – Democrat) nor WW II (Roosevelt – Democrat). All it did was prolong the killing, torture and genocide of millions and millions of people of every race and creed. If someone declares war on you and starts killing your people, you are in that war by default where you like it or not. The only thing to do is to end it quickly, using as much force as you can generate. That is not revenge – it is survival

we cant pull out now because it is too soon and the war and loss and fights will have been pointless our troops really need our support not our individual support but the support of our nation even if u dont agree with the war or bush the troops are giving their lives up for us so that we can live freely and are able to walk outside without having to worry about cars blowing up and innocent people dieing, the media only tells of the bad and the death but what about the children, the future of iraq, cheering for the troops and thanking them why dont we hear about that or the grown men and women that thank the soldiers and clap and cheer as they walk or drive by why dont we hear about that? we cant pull out now because if we do the terrorists will win and the world would face terrorism as an everyday thing the middle east would suffer more loss and death after the hope that we have given them how can we even consider putting these innocent caring people through that? they just came out of a time of tyranny how can we think of leaving them defenseless and weak only to fall into those times again? WE CANT PULL OUT! as for the torturing and dieing...pray

It is a horrible thing, what they did to those soldiers. But we are making progress toward defeating Al Qaeda in Iraq. Today we killed the Iraq Al Qaeda fifth in command. Every time we take down one of these leaders we find documents that lead us to others in the organization.
We are winning. The situation in Iraq is improving every day. If we keep our troops there and keep working toward a stable, self governing Iraq, we will be rewarded with a democratic allie in the war on terror in the middle east where we once had an enemy.
If we withdraw our troops now, and the Iraqi government falls to Al Qaeda and the insurgents we end up with another jihadist enemy which will probably be strongly influenced by Iran and will be the stadging area for the next attack on American soil.
Regardless of how you feel about why we went there, I don't think we have a choice but to stay and finish the job.

We in the military don't do the whole vengence thing... we did it in Vietnam... and history tells us how that worked out. If we pull out, we have gained nothing and given the terrorist what they want. The ability to say they repelled the US. The US is the only country with the military force that is willing to conduct counter-terrorism. With a true global economy at stake... you have to look bigger picture... security should be every nations goal. Of course they all look at things like border security and such... but they don't have the economic and social outlook we do. Why do you think we have immigration problems?? The good old American Dream. Pulling out too soon would spell trouble for the entire Middle East and global economic security. Terrorist would soon run Iraq... think oil, think world economy. Think of the ability to flex your muscle if you owned 1/4 of the worlds oil reserves.
We need to pull out when Iraq can sustain herself. I wish it was over already... I am a soldier that may be headed back soon. I want so much more than the average person to have it over with. But at what cost to our way of life??

My first response is another question. If we really have 70,000 Iraqi troops trained why are our soldiers manning check points. Seems like our military is being used as traffic cops. Second, if reports are correct who left 2 privates (specialists) alone at that check point? I have a son in the military, he has been there once and will surely return. I know we cannot leave for all the reasons TCat mentioned but I am extremely confused as to how the military is functioning. They have become litigious against their own soldiers and politically correct to the enemy. Of the two choices you gave us; avenge or pull out.......I say AVENGE.

Invading Iraq --- was the Biggest Mistake, In the History of the United States' Armed forces. If we pulled out, The World's renowed Super Power will Lose face --- If we continue to be there, more of soldiers will be sacrificed in the name of "War on Terrorism" and Quest for Oil..

Fight the war to win, not just to maintain a degree of freedom for a select few. Doing so smacks of communism. Look at the history of war and see how often the winners won by doing the unexpected. Does Allah really have enough Virgins for all those who would die if we dropped the bomb on them? Of course not and we would be unable to handle all the backlash if we did act so uncivilized. So we need to change our method of attack. Their weakness is our strength.

We can't pull out, because that's just giving in to the terrorists. There really is no way to stop it. Those people are just sick.

It does not matter, to withdraw or not. These people will continue to fight for their freedom without stopping, even if Abu Graib will be their ends. They should do it until they win. They should not listen to anybody, they have to free themselves from merciless invaders, who tortured, beaten to death, destroy, bombard, murder their citizens, and saying that they are freeing them.

What kind of freedom is this? I can never understand this
